Then I have to wait till Monday to get the results. So that will be almost 3 weeks with a back injury that should have gotten taken care of the day after I hurt myself.

    I wont be surprised if I find out walking around with this injury for 3 weeks has fucked me up more and I will prob need MORE medical care, who knows if my insurance will pay for it or not.

    Now I feel like calling them and screaming at them "WHAT THE FUCK DO I PAY YOU FOR... INSTANCES LIKE THIS YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES!!!!" but then they would probably drop me, then I'd be even more screwed.

    I'm fucking pissed. thanx for letting me vent guys
    Now wait I was pretty sure all the neo-con haters were saying that government run heathcare would be bad because you were forced to wait unlike private insurance. Or did I mishear?

                    I don't believe in all chiropractors, but I do believe in mine 100%. He worked miracles on my neck and lower spine when I first moved to Cali 2 years ago and I have the xrays to prove it. MY neck was bent the wrong way and 2 bones in my lower spine were out of wack from several car accidents I had been in. Now my neck is bent the correct way and my spine was perfectly straight..I was down to only seeing him once a month and feeling great until this happened.

                    I have full faith in him that he can correct this problem, and the only thing the "real" doctors have offered me is drugs.. pain killers, muscle relaxers and cortizone shots into my back.. now I know THAT'S not gna fix me. So I think it's kinda mean for you guys to come in here and try to piss in my cheerios, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

                                        Anyone looking for health care should avoid Blue Cross Blue Shield ( or whatever they call themselves this week ). A local insurance agent came to my restaurant to talk about a group plan for my staff and told me that BCBS have a predilection of not paying out on large claims, so much so that a class action law suit was filed and BCBS lost to the tune of $100,000,000.00 Their comment was it was a cost of doing business and went right back to denying claims

When I went in recently for a xray I just handed them my info, I didn't notify my health insurance company that I was going.

I was born with my spine fused to my hips, so I have chronic back pain, yet whenever it gets unbearable, a single treatment of ultrasound usually does the trick, eliminating the pain right away.

                                                                                            I have tried chiropractors in the past, and they actually aggravated the problem, with their guesswork remedy / one solution fits all treatment.

                                                                                            Good luck on a full recovery...

                                                                                            I also support universal healthcare (a single payer option) - you can opt for your own healthcare, however basic healthcare is provided for all. That's basically the way that almost all of the first world countries do healthcare.

                                                                                                            Along with the adjustments I get at the chiro, I also get 10 or 15mins of ultrasound therapy, then TENS unit (low dose of electroshock is best way to describe it I guess) and this rollerbed thing, which I'm not doing now that I'm not supposed to move my back at all.
                                                                                                            I'm not sure that it alleviates the pain right away, or that it's helping at all. But it's part of the treatment so I do it anyways, couldn't hurt

                                                                                                            ps- I realize I would def already be on the road to recovery and not worrying about how to pay for it or what step to take after the insurance company puts me in a bad spot if I lived in Canada or other places that have universal healthcare and I hope you all realize how lucky you are if you do live there

In addition, many agencies will not accept a statement of disability from a chiropractor, so people trying to qualify for benefits or time off from work are required to provide verification from a medical doctor.

                                                                                                                    My sister fell down the stairs and went to the local A&E. She was x-rayed within 3-4 hours and then transfered to another hospital for an emergency operation to remove the disc.

                                                                                                                    They told her if she hadn't of had it sorted straight away she would of been in wheelchair for life.

                                                                                                                    Thanks to the UK NHS.... I'm happy to pay my national insurance so people like my sister have a fighting chance.

I had a bulging disc and pinched sciatic nerve last winter. It's the most painful thing I have ever felt in my life, I couldn't sit, lay down, sleep, or do anything.

                                                                                                                            I saw a chiropractor and a naprapath, it took about a month and a half for the pain to subside. The naprapath helped a ton, finding a good one is difficult though.

                                                                                                                            Keep that in mind regardless of the MRI results. Back surgery and shots to reduce inflammation aren't always successful and sometimes result in other complications. Make sure you get an opinion from a couple doctors before deciding your treatment plan. Back injuries are serious and can result in life-long pain.

They kinda bend your body around and hold you in various positions while stretching you. It's really not that bad and it improves your range of motion. Took about a week and a half and I was back to normal.

                                                                                                                                Also use cold compresses. I know cold on your back totally sucks, but the cold reduces swelling and in the end will make it better. Also the stinging from the cold compress distracts from the back pain.

                                                                                                                                Also if you call the insurance company, ask to talk to someone who has the power to approve or deny the test, usually it's like a nurse practitioner... they have a special title but I don't remember what it is. Just stay on the line and don't take no for an answer. When you get this person on the line freak the fuck out. Don't curse at them, but seriously- cry, don't hold back. I have no shame, I did it when they refused to cover an MRCP scan I absolutely needed. When I was sure I had the right person on the phone flipped the bitch switch off and just let it all fly. Got it approved that day.

                                                                                                                                    For now I have decided against any shots that will subside the pain, because when I dont feel the pain I get up and walk around and overdo it.
                                                                                                                                    I am searching for an orthopedic spine specialist doctor to look over my xray and mri results and tell me what he thinks I need to do.
                                                                                                                                    Im still following doctors orders and doing absolutely NOTHING for the most part, and I just hope to get on the road to recovery ASAP n put this behind me

                                                                                                                                    ps the disc is 3mm bulging.. gna look it up how severe that is?

                                                                                                                                                                                            Health Net, which was accused of unfairly terminating coverage for 800 people between 2004 and 2009, will reinstate their coverage, reimburse medical expenses and pay $6.3 million in damages and a $2 million penalty, Shernoff said.

                                                                                                                                                                                            The insurer also will reimburse policyholders for out-of-pocket medical expenses in an amount not yet calculated, a spokesman for Shernoff said.

                                                                                                                                                                                            Health Net also agreed not to suspend any California Individual or Family Plan member for one year or until state laws setting standards for cancellations take effect, Shernoff said.                                                                                                                                                                                                 I had some disks crushed and my back broken...among other injuries. My back has been pinned and fused. I went through a pain management program...but I also have drugs available...including morphine patches...but I avoid the use of the drugs 99% of the time...for if I kill the pain then like you I do not watch my movement as I should and movement in the wrong way could cause paralysis. It is difficult to live with but I have managed to do so since '91.
