The more I think about the sanctions, the more I realize they are going to make Russia stronger. In the short term it will be inconvenient but it's people will not be starving, and they will move away from globalization and foreign supply chain. They will start making all own car parts, all own electronics, all own food, all own fuel, etc. It's not going to be an overnight process but in a year the sanctions will have done Russia a favor. In a year or two Russia will be able to do whatever the fuck they want, because sanctions will have no effect on it. No one is going to topple the government there over this shit. The worst thing this war has done for Russia is make them look weak and/or poorly organized in the eyes of the world.

As with everything, some people will gain and some people will lose in Russia. Companies doing international business in Russia will lose out - but other companies like Russian fast food chains, grocery store chains, even cola knockoffs will all gain because their sales will go up. On top of that, things like cars etc will just be privately imported by companies. There won't be an official Mercedes/VW/BMW/Toyota dealership maybe, but you will sure as shit be able to buy any car. They will just get purchased from a dealer in China or some other country and shipped over, and sold to you from a private dealership. Deals will be struck for car parts as well. It will be more expensive and maybe more people will be driving Lada instead of VW, but it's not like they are going back to horses and wagons. Everything will be available and will just come in as private import from countries that aren't sanctioning them.
