As for Kaliningrad itself, i'm of course no military strategy expert or anything so I'm maybe wrong but it's far from Russia, so it seems like it would be probably pretty easy to cut off supply lines to it. It's also quite small and surrounded from all sides by Poland and Lithuania. I doubt it would be much problem to pacify Kalinigrad in itself besides the fact that if that conflict were to actually occur it is basically WW3. Besides that, it seems like Russia is having problems getting fuel etc to their tanks in near Kiev let alone another 800km further west to Warsaw...

I agree, attacking Poland will be beginning for WW3 (we all know how ww2 started) which will be suicidal for all participants so I don't see it happening.
