I'm not looking for it to be porn, rather more mainstream but yes with nudity. Nudity is king in this genre. You can call it art or you can call if freaky chicks I don't care. Either is great in my book.
We are very good at building communities and I have a good name for the brand. We would want to build a community around giving girls what they want. Exposure, networking, friendship, money, fame. Whatever their reason if they choose to participate.

This is just my preferences talking, but I think you should try and spin it as a gamer/geek girl community - lots of guys looking for those types of girls to interact with, and lots of girls in the genre that wouldn't mind joining a community and showing off for said guys.

That's a great idea, for several reasons.
Not only does it fill a mostly uncovered niche, it also provides some serious opportunities for cashing in on merchandise. What many people don't realize is that SG probably makes at least as much money from merch as it does from memberships. With a site aimed at geeks, potential merch income would be even more.
Of course, there would be a few caveats. The geek demographic is rather diverse. You'd have to reach the art geeks (largest group to draw models from), gamers, otaku, trolls... basically, parts of the audiences of avclub, somethingawful, xkcd, pennyarcade, 4chan, deviantart, etc.
The hard part wouldn't be finding models (there are plenty, and they'd mostly look like the less tattooed girls on SG), but creating additional content to engage the audience. Some damn good writers with extensive knowledge of internet culture would be needed.
Still, the idea is much, much better than something similar to SG. In fact, if I wasn't getting out of the industry, I'd be tempted to do it myself./(bb|[^b]{2})/Comment

Also something to keep in mind would be to keep it as "home grown" as possible. The alt / indie scene really rejects projects that they feel are corporate. SG tries hard to skate the line but they still suffer backlash like the entire Lithium Picnic thing that went down a few years ago.
I really respect Amelia G and what she's done over the years. I think your best approach would be to find someone already entrenched in some way with the culture and let them be the face of the brand.

If anyone ever decides to do this (I don't have the funds or connections), I'd totally offer my services as a writer/idea person. I play video games constantly and hang out on 4chan, somethingawful, ncn, x-e, etc etc. I think I'm sort of the target audience for this sort of site, which may be why I push the idea so hard. Hell, I actually know more than a few people who could write and do quality webcomics and programming and the like - the only part I'm clueless about is the model recruitment and the technicalities and legal stuff that go along with producing your own content. Ideas for photoshoots, though, I have those coming out of my ears...

I appreciate all the ideas. SOME people shouldn't jump to conclusions on what our plan is or what niche will fail or succeed. Right now our plan is find someone that can do the job.
I'm confident it will be successful if we ever start it.

Ive done work promoting GG and SG in the past, had quite a few clients come to me to design stuff for that niche too.
Some of my punk friends always use me for their galleries and such promoting these sites too.

I can't believe that people think it is tough to find goth models, for anything from softcore SG type shoots all the way to hardcore porn shoots. At 35 years old I can still throw on the vinyl pants and the spikes, hit a goth club, and find hot goth models for days. They have always been the absolute easiest to recruit, and they are also a LOT of fun.
Not that my opinion means much, but just find someone who frequents the goth clubs and is in tune with the culture to recruit and you will be surprised how easy it is...Comment
