At least your province is doing something. Here in BC our vaccination clinics are "closed for the holidays" (no boosters for anyone, even though boosters are only available for the very old with no plans to roll out for anyone else yet...)
And all Covid testing sites have been closed except for 2 - with wait times for those two sites being 3.5-5 hours. Basically, we are now turning away over 90% of symptomatic people from testing sites in our effort to mislead the public into thinking its not so bad here. (hint, its worse than ever as hospitals are turning people away and shut-down of medical system is projected in January).

Nothing is happening in Quebec. The Omicron is spreading fast but people are getting mild colds and hospitalizations are not rising. Yes, we are 'somewhat' in a lockdown in Quebec, but mostly Cinema, Bars. Restaurants need to close at 22pm I think.
But, it's just a question of hours until we are in full lockdown, I'm sure about that.
Last year, we were in full lockdown for xmas, and I'm sure it will be the same this year.

Define "work" .
Last year people assumed that vaccines "worked" in that they would be immune from it - meaning they wouldn't catch it and therefore not spread it. This was government and health messaging. This was the argument for vaccine passports.
Then in the Fall when people said vaccines "worked," they meant that they protect you from serious illness or death. But you could still catch it and spread it. It was becoming obvious that vaccinated individuals were catching it and spreading it but people said they were doing so to a 'lesser degree' so that's how they justified the passports again.
Now we can see that vaccinated individuals are spreading it like mad and are also ending up in the hospital a lot too.
The only thing we can say is that it "looks like" vaccines help protect you from serious illness. They "work" that way.
But it's proven now that there are no need for vaccine passports. Everyone catches it and everyone spreads it with no difference whatsoever. Whole, vaccinated sports teams are spreading it from within. Some people (Toronto Raptors GM) are triple vaxxed.
