Xbox Live + Netflix + New Live Update = Win.

So I've finally had the chance to glance around the new Xbox Live update (been busy with clients), and I gotta say, despite the totally gayness of paying real money to add stupid clothing to your avatar, the new update is badass, especially with Netflix.

I recently moved and because of my area, somehow cable internet is only available ACROSS the interstate I live on, but not on my side... So I'm stuck with Qwest DSL, but anyway, before the update, I had problems working and running Netflix on it due to the slower connection and Netflix kept having to recalculate my video quality until it was pretty much like jacking off to a poorly rendered video uploaded to PornHub.com.

Well now it's blazing fast and I've watched 3 movies so far while working and haven't lost a damn bit of quality.

If you have a 360 and Netflix I recommend this setup. I actually canceled my Netflix just before the update to use a local movie places setup (much cheaper and better turn around on movies, obviously), but I reopened it and put the 1 DVD on to just have instant watch.

Good job Microsoft and the Xbox Live team!

Now we can buy on demand games... but I don't think we can use MS points, can we?
        I'm just a newbie.

          LOL

I saw it update last night when I signed on to listen to some music but I didn't bother to check it out.

Paying $ for clothes? That's utterly stupid.

Yeah, the new update is great. Being able to stream movies directly from my box without a PC is a welcome addition... I can't wait until they release a few more 360 titles for instant purchase as well.

If anyone wants to play some H3 sometime (only game I own) - add: Jayyyvis and send me a message to let me know who ya are.

I have a gamefly subscription but it's really going to waste.

Actually Netflix is about to start getting many movies later. Some studios have decided to make places like Netflix or Redbox wait 30-60 extra days after a DVD is available to buy because they fear that too many people are renting a movie for $1-3 and not buying the movie for $10-15. Lawsuits are already starting against the studios, so who knows what will happen.

Everything is in actual prices and not points, so I'm not sure, I really don't care about that, I'd rather just go out and buy the game used or something than download it.

Um new update was AUGUST 11th 2009. Nexflix has been a feature on XBL since Nov 2008. So exactly what did I misread.

The new update is pretty good and it's not even the full update. A bigger update is coming this fall.

Finally the party system actually works. Before it was always a pain to get people on a party and go from game to game. It's much easier now and when someone actually connects to the party, it makes a little noise so you don't have to spend 2 minutes saying "is everybody here...hello?"
