Imagine how bad it must smell on an Air France plane.
Air France: Men not allowed to sit next to children

Actually, Air France has been pretty good when I took them on transatlantic flights. It has been a while though. Last time, the seats were huge in comparison to other airlines. Good food too.Comment

transatlantic air france is great - and they even have those rocking crib things that hang from the overhead lockers in the center aisle to help babies sleep, that I've never seen any other airline adopt, but they should be industry-wide.
That said, European flights suck eggs, third only to Ryan Air and Easy Jet. I've thaken them 5 times now, through necessity and every frikken time it's been bad-tempered bitches (male and female) and a frikken pack of salted nuts (someone already made the comment on the peanuts). I mean a 3 hour flight to be served only a bag of peanuts on. Followed by a 1.5 hr flight after a connection to be served, yet again a bag of nuts. The connection was 20 mins, so I had to leg it and had no time to buy anything to eat.
For Euro-flights, it's BA or Lufthansa only. Both are great for families and both serve decent snacks.

it says that
Men who travel alone cannot sit next to UNACCOMPANIED children 12 or below.
So if mum or dad is there, then there is no issue

Which is what I guessed. Imagine the legal situation if they sat a kid next to a random guy that ended up feeling them up. I bet it is an order from lawyers. I still think just limiting to men is weird. Perhaps if there is going to be a child on their own there is a section where they sit. There can't be that many on one flight.Comment

Did you intentionally not read the text on the page where that came from? It is a photo for an *anti* sex tourism campaign. I am fairly sure most people could have told that from the faces on the girls without even reading it.oh, that's why they have this image deep in their corporate photo collection....

I read it, knew it, but played it on GFY to see the (obvious) reaction(s), which is why I included the link to page, rather than posting simply the photo.
However, I would like to know how you could tell it was a photo about combating sex tourism/slaves just by looking at the kids faces?
The fingers crossed speak volumes imo, but not their faces.

The face on of the girl on the right is that of sorrow and that combined with the obvious professional shot led me to think that would be what the photo would be about.I read it, knew it, but played it on GFY to see the (obvious) reaction(s), which is why I included the link to page, rather than posting simply the photo.

I've seen just unreal seating arrangements with families, like the two kids together and the two parents behind them in the next row. At least pair each parent with a child! One woman was flying with three kids and her eldest (about 8 years old) had to sit by herself in the row behind them, in the middle of two strangers. Why the airline didn't put her across the aisle from mum, I don't know.

This is probably directed at children flying alone. My parents weren't married and lived across the country from each other, so I would fly alone as early as 5. But I don't remember any creepy men, after all... the flight attendants are usually informed as to who was a lone child and who was with their parents, so they kept an eye on me.
Very nice!
On the true basis. Thats just bloody ridiculous!
No one would sit their child next to other people anyway!
Whenever I have been on family holidays, I would sit next to anyone else on a flight and allow my children by the window so they can see out.
Bloody stupid rules!
I think that as long as the flight attendants do their jobs, this rule is kinda overdoing it.Give me money & buy my links here, damn it!Comment
