for long tail keywords even from google? I feel like i'm pumping out content for nothing... this feeling of starting over a new website from NOTHING is tough.. and mentally discouraging.

Domain age isn't a factor anymore, or to be precise, it is almost irrelevant. And it is like this for years now. I know, I've tested it and compared it with totally fresh domains. Better spend some time learning about SEO than wasting it on making new sites without knowledge.Femdom Destiny

There are many reasons why this can happen unfortunately I don't know the site nor what you've done inside analytics etc. to help. Yes you should be able to start seeing traffic at least by now so really need to dig in and find out why.
