Owner of Piracy Site arrested by FBI

Go this today, it brightened my day:

I wanted to pass along an update regarding a file-sharing site that was hosting your stolen dvd content.. specifically jitterville.com. I was contacted, by our contact at the FBI, today
and the owner has been arrested. He is facing extradition and his server accounts have been seized from Godaddy. One pirate down with many more to go.

If you copy without permission and share it with others, who have not paid or are authorized to copy, you change the market value of the product. That is stealing. How much, depends on how much economic damage you made. Physically product or not, it does not matter.
If you run a website, with the mean of such activities, organized crime, you are likely to face trouble.

im surprised some of these sites giving away hardcore content for free..with no age check..are not being prosecuted under obscenity laws

the free give away with tgp was one thing..then mgps...but they usually kept the good stuff to make sales...the tubes just put 5 dudes banging a chick in the ass and cumming on her face available for any internet connection to see....that is a huge issue..nevermind the theft

Actually, I have never downloaded anything that I did not pay for nor made a copy of something that would be a copyright infringement. All the music I have was bought on iTunes and any DVDs I have are legit copies.

That depends on the jurisdiction... and the will and limits of law enforcement ressources, doesn't it? In China you could probably run a website, if it hurts western economy.. but if you run anal hardcore, they will come for you within seconds
