There is a potential new way for tube sites to get their money.

We all know that banner advertising for dating or cam sites provide advertising income for the tube sites, since those offerings can't be stolen for a tube.

Some tube sites are feeder traffic to paysites, but those are the "Fake tubes", and are setup by the program owner.

The new source of funding can come from mainstream.

mainstream "rewards based incentive programs" are like the ones where you see you can get a free xbox or ps3 if you complete the process.

      the scenario can be this:

tube site says in order to use the site for free (meaning the tube site decides to give a preview of videos ie. limited number) and gain access to the bigger collection of videos, they must purchase do one of the following.

the options for the surfer could be:

      - complete a survey (lead generation companies pay money for survey forms, its big bucks depending on what the survey product is for). the tube site then gets paid for the surfer filling out a simple survey

      - purchase a product (ie netflix, etc). the tube site gets revenue from the company that is running the promotion, where the 3rd party is the actual affiliate to the various offers, and they pay out to the tube site a percentage or fixed dollars from what they collect.

Interactive content is what makes money, look at the sponsors at the Internext, the big once were cams and dating

paying attention to what the customer wants is key for getting the "conversion" and the "retention".

up until a few years ago, the focus was all on "conversion" with the tours, etc. now it should be "retention". keeping those members satisfied with the content they want.

this is where i think sites that shoot their own content can retain the models to provide INTERACTIVITY with the members.

tube sites can't steal that. i believe the new paysite is a hybrid of the current paysite offerings (photos and videos) + solo girl interactivity + cams (ie. weekly cam session with a girl inside members area)

        nowadays its Content, Content, Content

That is no doubt, the future.

Though, there will always be a place for video, it's hard to resist the personal interaction of a live model willing to do anything for you. It's almost a no-brainer.

Their is money in Video but the problem is if your video is good then it will end up on Tube.

This is the argument i had at the show with some one else who said "my content is so good i am not worried about tubes".....well if your content is that good its going to end up in tube a lot faster then crappy content.

mainstream will never fund porn period. Also the reason porn survived all these years was it was under counters and behind darken windows. Children couldnt get access, that seems to matter less and less.Until the government starts slapping us back down hard.

                    Agreed.

And yes, if your content is THAT good, it's going on the tubes and torrents faster than the others.

statements like this only prove how totally clueless you are

all you have to do is check out some of the porn torrent search engines to see that this is not true.

                      there are offers for games

their is an entire market of mainstream who are interested in 18+ target demographic

and they are so easy to find, just buy a copy of playboy and look at all the mainstream advertisers who have no problem being associated with adult content.

offer them a good enough deal and they will accept.

For as anti-government as I am, in a perfect world I believe a serious government smack down is the only solution SO LONG AS they slap down everyone equally. By that I mean tubes, torrents newsgroups, boards and any other forum of media where people are giving away content for free.

Of course there is a problem with this as it would only apply to US based sites, leaving all the sites that need to be shut down, running and ruining what's left of the business.

It's all a cluster fuck, that's for sure, and it's not just our industry. The music industry and Hollywood are taking serious beatings as well. I for one would be just as happy if they shut down online porn totally and the media reverted back to magazines and DVDs. It will never happen, but I would be OK with that if it did.

Mainstream will fund SOME porn. Extreme our unusual niches will always be left in the dark. But, perhaps that is where they operate the best, away from corporate porn and mainstream companies.

                              but tony said

mainstream will never fund porn period
and that is why i called him clueless
his statement was an absolute yours realizes that it is not.

as you get more extreme it is harder and harder to get support however
the fact is there is a prove track record of it happening

torsky.org is a porn torrent search engine
it list all the stuff you guys are selling
go to the site and refresh the page a couple of times
you will see ads for media vaults (storage)
you will see ads for http://www.evony.com/ a browser based warcraft style game.

the arguement that mainstream money stops and playboy style nudity is a totally clueless statement period.

if you spend time on the mainstream side of marketing, in looking at CPA (cost per acquisition) and other affiliate/reward type systems, you would understand that my prediction was based on something concrete.

and how many ads did that company buy in playboy and penthouse during that 3 year period

disney is not going to advertise in porn

insurance companies that have a family friendly message are not going to advertise in porn

however just because those companies are not willing to advertise in porn doesn't mean that
NO ONE will advertise in porn
