This, of course, comes with the assumption that every Gitmo detainee was guilty of something other than being Arab.

actually the usa signed the geneva convention, and in doing so agreed to its laws. and it also has laws about having fair trials, so they do have a right to a fair trial.

That's why most of the people I found with IED's or shooting at us or if they had a weapon never got the chance at a trial...They got to meet their god...let him sort it out..

While I respect what you have done, I have had friends die in Iraq, there was no reason to be there.

I do agree with you 100% the US should not be in Iraq..And yes I to have had and held friends that died there as well..It's a sad situation all the way around..

How does that salad of apples and oranges you're making taste?

Finding someone with an IED and killing them or arresting them and hauling someone out of their home and throwing them in a prison indefinitely on an island based on allegations are two completely different things.
