So the UK gov gave the green for Brits about 2 weeks ago to go to Portugal, one of the very few places with a country on the "Green" list.
Then of course it changed and now anyone not back here by (4am i think) Tuesday morning will have to self isolate when they get home. Which means the past 2 or 3 days has just been a mad scramble with people trying to get whatever the fuck flight they can back home. One of my friends got home yesterday. Said older folks etc were at the airports and covid test centres with very little info.
I have some sympathy with holidaymakers to be honest but not a lot. I don't get the whole "oh shit gov saying it's safe to go to let's all head to Portugal in our thousands". Knowing it was every chance of going tits up and back on the "amber" list.
While all this mask shit etc still going on i'm willing to write this year off again for foreign travel....unless they do announce all restrictions lifted.
The thought of even sitting on a flight with a wee mask on is enough to put me off.
I'll wait. Will take a few drives over the Summer and actually visit places here that i have never been to before yet are probably more scenic that most places i could possibly visit abroad...
I Buy My High Quality Traffic Here, You Should Too!
First, to have as much is possible fun with girls which just wanna have some fun, and also to go again to Madrid. It seems as air traffic level are still from normal, you can grab cheap tickets even if you reserve few days before. Normally , it takes 2 months reservation to get good price.
After some months in Playa del Carmen will move soon to see Guadalajara, than stay in the beach near Puerto Vallarta some months. And when things clear up my plan is to go to Panama for a few months and live at a beach there before everything locks down/up again. Only in case of an emergency i will travel to the EU this year.

I’m definitely staying state side. I’ll hit europe after everything is back to normal. I’m sure traveling abroad is an absolute mess

Yeah, big fear for us isn't even going to the places, but having rules changed while we're gone with no notice at all. My immigration lawyer even advised I don't leave the US in case they consider my visa to be "non essential" upon return.
It hasn't been terrible though. Finally got to visit Yellowstone, spent christmas in Hawaii, had a great snowboarding season in Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming... America can be beautiful too.

Oh damn! You are well overdue for a trip to Italy
I feel you about the visa 100%
I hit some of those places with the gf. We went on a giant road trip. Took 30 days, but it was awesome. We started from dc, through the south, from new mexico up to Colorado, from Colorado to see sherm in vegas, up the california coast, and back through the north. That’s how I knew she was the one lol. It’s a big country for sure. It seems america can be summed up with 1 word: farms
Italy is on the agenda! Hopefully sooner than later
Still quarantined. I’m playing it safe and staying in here. Might have some visitors from the local area and my BFF from Nola usually visits yearly. He’s trying to get a flight into Providence rather than Boston.
***************************************** Anti-Semites have Small Penis Syndrome. The only known treatment is electroshock therapy combined with cerebellum removal. Fortunately, it’s a tiny procedure.

It’s still locked down? I hope that gets lifted soon so you can back to regular life. Things opened up back here (NJ) last friday. So many closed up stores though. It made me very emotional

The city next door is in the red. The quarantine is for high risk people. I’m not old enough and I’m not fat anymore. But I have some medical issues that makes me vulnerable.

That sounds really exciting! I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta & Guadalajara, but I haven’t explored much of south america. Costa Rica was it. I’d like to fish parts of the amazon one day.
In Puerto Vallarta we went snorkeling, and my gf at the time couldn’t swim. I found that out when she hit the water. That was one of those times where I was like “shit.” Somehow she figured it out and we ended up having a great time
Trying to achieve the state of giving as small amount of fucks about people around me as they do towards me so I can find happiness again lol
I feel you there. Largely, I like to be left alone and keep a small circle of old friends. I do, however, enjoy seeing people that I haven’t seen in awhile. As far as meeting new people, it depends on their interests. I can tell now from experience, in a matter of minutes, if a person and myself will get along. One cannot please everyone!

I am curious about Puerto Vallarta, i went there 20 years ago. Wasn´t the plan to go to Mexico, but with Corona it is the best spot. No problems with visas and when needed you can fly everywhere. Costa Rica is also on the bucket list.
But now plan is to live in a house on poles above the clear blue sea for some months. Could be in Panama, Honduras or Guatamala, depending on political and corona issues. And the price

I think we are going to road trip end of June beginning of July. That's always fun. Not sure where I want to go north or south. We did Maine last year so might go the other way. As long as we go through places that are on my weed maps we're good.
End of August taking my BFF and our daughters to the Caribbean not sure which Island yet though. They don't have passports so we're limited.

Awesome! I had a friend pass recently, so we’re driving from maine (we we will be for a few weeks) to Tennessee for her remembrance ceremony. We’re going to drive, so that should be interesting. Taking the scenic route.
Nice. I’m going for lake trout soon. Typically I fish for pike and smallies and perch in winter. Lost a big musky this winter. Had her 1/4 out of the hole and “bloop” gone. I went full sperg
Got a pontoon boat and a waverunner so going to spend most of my free time on the water.
Nice!!!! I bought my friends bass boat. Nothing fancy, but it’s my first boat. I figure let me ruin that learning. Then I’ll get a new one in a few years.
My wife and I bought a 22' RV about a month ago. I've been patching up a few things getting ready for heading out to some national parks this summer. That's about as American as it gets around here. Boondocking with the Hoi Polloi! I've got my 4/20 t-shirt and stash, don't need much else.

Where in NJ are you? Tennessee is def the destination if we go the other way.
My brother and his entire family is coming to town. This doesn't sound impressive but... My family has an interesting history.... Short version is my father died, mother re-married, had a baby, we grew up together but I left home when he was ten years old. Our fmaily is split - He lives on the East Coast and my mother and I now live on the West Coast. The last time we were together was 2005 during a funeral. I don't travel to the East Coast often. He was in my wedding but his wedding happened quick (um shotgun wedding) so I've never met his wife, their daughter, or his two step sons.
We are planning a weekend in San Francisco and then a week in Yosemite.
