The document lists Obama's parents as Barack Hussein Obama and Stanley Ann Obama, formerly Stanley Ann Dunham, the birth date as Aug. 4, 1961, and the hospital of birth as Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.
No doctor is listed. But the alleged certificate bears the signature of the deputy registrar of Coast Province, Joshua Simon Oduya. It was allegedly issued as a certified copy of the original in February 1964.Comment

I looked into that and you're right, they didn't "declare" themselves a republic until 12/12/64, but they were officially independent from the UK on 12/12/63, so could it be possible that they started putting 'Republic of Kenya' on their documents throughout 1964?Comment

Maybe... To prove it is real you would need to look at Book 44B page 5733 of the Birth Register for the Coast Province. Should be easy enough for WND to do. If it is there I would then say it was an attempt by his father to try and gain guardianship since the certificate was made 3 years after his birth and 3 years after the Hawaiian birth certificate. It is fairly far fetched since the State of Hawaii has already confirmed that the Hawaiian Birth Certificate is legal and that there were birth announcements placed by the hospital as confirmed by quite a few reporters... including Politico.Last edited by nation-x; 08-02-2009, 04:27 PM.Comment

That one in the picture is a copy from 1964
It have to be fake. If it was real, it should either be in the real language, or they should not have used "Republic of Kenya". This mixes the two, and that is what makes me think its fake. (+ its just a little to convenient that is shows up like this)Comment

The "Birthers" like to bolster their argument by claiming that the Kenyan Ambassador to the US stated that Obama was born in Kenya. The fact is, he misspoke (it was actually the person interviewing the Ambassador that made the inference), and in any case, the Kenyan Ambassador has subsequently clarified that Obama was not born in Kenya.
Another oft-cited example is that Obama's Kenyan grandmother stated that she was present when Obama was born in Kenya. The videotape that contains this "proof", has a translator speaking for Obama's grandmother, and it ends abruptly after that statement.
Why? Because if you watch the full tape, Obama's grandmother, through the translator, make it absolutely clear that Obama was born in Hawaii, not Kenya.
Nonetheless, even though their "proof" is totally discredited, the "birther" conspiracy theory nutjobs still spread their lies in an effort to stir hysteria.
Frankly, I think it's hilarious, except that they are duping unsuspecting people into believing lies.

A certified copy of a birth certificate obtained by a total nut job is proof that Obama was born in Kenya but a certified copy of a birth produced by the State of Hawaii doesn't mean anything.

Guess you missed the bill that passed the House of Representatives 378-0 last week that stated:Who is a natural-born citizen? Who, in other words, is a citizen at birth, such that that person can be a President someday?
The 14th Amendment defines citizenship this way: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." But even this does not get specific enough. As usual, the Constitution provides the framework for the law, but it is the law that fills in the gaps.
Currently, Title 8 of the U.S. Code fills in those gaps. Section 1401 defines the following as people who are "citizens of the United States at birth:"
Anyone born inside the United States
Any Indian or Eskimo born in the United States, provided being a citizen of the U.S. does not impair the person's status as a citizen of the tribe
Anyone born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S.
Anyone born outside the United States, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year and the other parent is a U.S. national
Anyone born in a U.S. possession, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year
Anyone found in the U.S. under the age of five, whose parentage cannot be determined, as long as proof of non-citizenship is not provided by age 21
Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)
A final, historical condition: a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S.

Kenya was a Dominion the date this certificate was allegedly issued and would not become a republic for 8 months.
Mombasa belonged to Zanzibar when Obama was born, not Kenya.
Obama's father's village would be nearer to Nairobi, not Mombasa.
The number 47O44-- 47 is Obama's age when he became president, followed by the letter O (not a zero) followed by 44--he is the 44th president.
