Obama Nominates Bush Obscenity US Attorney

Looks like Obama may not be that soft on porn, or he's getting a lot of pressure from the right wing conservatives to step up prosecutions.

He has nominated Dan Bogden to return to the US Attorney's Office in Nevada where he was criticized and fired by Bush/Gonzalez for not being more active with prosecuting obscenity cases and porn in general.

So we have an indictment this week in NJ and now a former conservative Bushie coming back in Nevada.

Could he be making some political trades with the conservatives to try and get his healthcare bills through ???

I have to agree with this one, I think you have a misfiring synapse there, Michael. This was the guy who DIDN'T see a high priority in prosecuting obscenity, and that rubbed old Alberto the wrong way. I'm fine with this guy, from what I've seen of his record.

Granted but he's still a conservative... and if you look at the bigger picture.. the Rob Black plea (DOJ could have dismissed the case) the recent NJ obscenity prosecution and now nominating a conservative back to the US Attorney's Office in a state where porn is made and prostitution in legal - still makes me question what his policy is going to be.

Seems to me it would be to the industries benefit to have someone in that position who thinks there are more important cases to pursue other than porn...
The Bush relation is irrelevant...he proved that already.

He may be okay... here's an interview he did with a local Vegas newstation before he was fired by Bush and luckily he doesnt mention porn as a priority. He does say that child porn is one of his priorities though.

Don't forget christians hate porn for moral values, the obama coffee shop liberals see all women and gay men a victims and helpless, so they are even more likley to come after the porn industry, I don't know why more people don't get this??

Lets see the guy was fired because he thought going after main stream porn was a waste of time. so not a zealot. The guy in NJ was first indicted for obscenity in aug of 2008 when bush was president. I think going after porn is the least of their worries.

Politically Obama going hard on porners would be a brilliant move.

At some point someone in the Democratic party will see that and with revenues in the toilet....look out.

The Dems would hang us out to dry as quick or quicker than the Republicans ... hell Stevie Wonder could see that

On our side Obscenity is getting tougher and tougher to prosecute unless yer on the edge

It should also be a priority for our business to stop letting these morons lump child pornography in with obscenity but we dont have enough fucking common sense, collectively, to put a stop to that...seems porners are too busy trying to figure out how to fuck each other out of a few dollers.
