The original block was merely to stop a DDoS attack. It's quite possible that it happened automatically.
The block was lifted about an hour ago.
Now, 4chan is all but down because the entire internet is checking to see if it's really true - basically forming a natural DDoS attack./(bb|[^b]{2})/Comment
