One thing I've always admired about your company Shap is you take one project at a time and do it right, to perfection.

We recently put a halt on some of our newer projects to really focus on our program, sites, etc. We released the mobile, added a lot more content, looked at new tours, did a lot of testing, optimizing, and monetizing.

As as many have said, cutting expenses is the way go to as well. Do you really need to spend $30k on a dinner that will probably not get you the ROI expected or is it worth $10k to show appreciation to your current WMs who actually send you traffic?

It doesn't ... many WMs would rather blame tubes for all of what's happening rather than finding solutions.

How many TGPs/MGPs changed over years in terms of design? And then most had their traffic being handled by a third party after awhile.

One has to be willing to change with the times and put in the effort, yes it's not as easy as 1999, but what is?

Thanks Shap... you reminded me of a few things. Funny how after all these years you can let the little things slip.

put an offer in every payment you send out

print it on the cheque stub portion

i have done this in my business and it really pays off not only will you get sales from your affiliates/suppliers but from their banks and accountants too.

                          I agree.

It's funny how Steve Lightspeed never returned to this thread. I like how he got busted on gfy for his top affiliate making only $400 a month he manually changed it to show $20k+. Then also came in posting he had his best day ever. He wrote Greed Kills. He should remember that ego kills too

Steve's has had great success, he is no doubt a smart man. It's a shame he's turned into one of the crybabies that cries for things to go back to 2001. 2001 is gone. I'm sure Palm wished it was 2001 again lol. I'm sure Dell wishes it was 2001 again. Probably worldcom, lehman brothers, gm also wish it was 2001. It ain't. It's 2009. Get used to it.

The only person who ever agrees with GideonIdiot is his other fake nicks. And FYI, I didn't "manually change" anything. The tracker is a rolling 31 day total. Sometimes the #1 spot it is lower and sometimes it is higher. It changes every day.

And I'm not crying for the past either. I'm working on a new idea that will fuck up illegal tubes and put the honest people in this business back on top.

                                2. good luck with that, your lawyers were the ones who said it was ok to trademark a name without doing a search thru id records of produced porn for prior uses of that name.
i am not to confident that anything the come up with be anything but a massive waste of time but maybe you got lucky this time.

like i said before when you mentioned i am going to be the first person to predict this will fail.

Do you or do you know of someone in the business that will look at a site(s) and make recommendations to improve them?
My wife and I have been on over 15 years now as amaeturs!
A lot of people love us and we are also hated because of the fetish content we include. Used to be a big producer but has fallen off.
We love the business and being in it literally. Just need ideas I guess.

Hey Steve. I replied to your comments but obviously haven't heard a reply from you. I'm just curious why you felt it necessary to come to this thread and make comments that were in many ways irrelevant to what I was saying? This thread was about helping people improve their business and not in any way about being greed or screwing the surfer.

Hi Kristin. Thanks. It's funny because our biggest flops have been projects where we didn't do that. Whenever we try to rush a project, or hop on board a trendy wave we screwup bad. Luckily I have really good managers that control my ADD and my constant barrage of must launch ideas

I was simply pointing out that a "slash and burn" policy might work today, but not tomorrow. Hidden prechecked xsales are a good example of "leaving as little money as possible on the table". Surfers that feel like they've been "milked for every penny" will be less likely to buy anything online again. I wasn't directing anything at you Shap. I was really just adding my 2 cents to the conversation.

I rarely get on GFY these days, and when I do it is usually to chuckle at the usual ridiculous posts and infighting between regulars. Your thread is a welcome diversion. Although I rarely do any work in adult these days I have been shooting girls since 1992. I stopped working in adult because I hated dealing with all the short sightedness of my clients and the lack of caring that was almost universal with regards to the quality of the product. That and the turn and burn approach everyone seems to have with regard to their customers.

I can see that your philosophy is different. It is refreshing to see that you are not only interested in providing a quality product, but also that you are not willing to bait and switch your customers to shave a little extra $$. I work with a lot of creative entertainment people. People who are very successful household names. I find that universally they are more interested in making something that people will love and take something away from than something that just makes money. They really care about their customers and because of that the customers keep coming back.

The adult industry will always have the "quick buck at any cost" mentality, but it is nice to see that not everyone is playing that game.

Last edited by JayAllan; 07-28-2009, 11:13 PM.

Hidden prechecked xsales are a good example of "leaving as little money as possible on the table". Surfers that feel like they've been "milked for every penny" will be less likely to buy anything online again. I wasn't directing anything at you Shap. I was really just adding my 2 cents to the conversation.
by focusing exclusively on the money per customer order and ignoring retention and conversion is what causes this problem

when you rotate thru the different sections doing one small optimization and then going to the next section you avoid putting blinders on your business optimization.
