This just ain't right! Run-DMC was the vehicle that delivered Hip-Hop to the white suburbs and "legitimized" that style of music for those not from the urban communities.

This is not just a loss to the Hip-Hop culture, but a loss to anyone that is a music fan today. How many current musicians owe much of their acceptance to the works of Run-DMC today? Well....I can think of a few now...Eminem, Kid Rock come to mind now and there are more.

The video "Walk this Way" with Aerosmith brought that band (Aerosmith) back after they had years of problems with drugs and could not put anything good together. Stephen Tyler credited that work with Run-DMC as the turning point for their careers. Anyone that likes Aerosmith and has "issues" with Hip-Hop music should realize that music is a brotherhood....color is not an issue...music is for everyone and many musicians are influenced by other genres.

This is just another tragedy in the music world and unfortunately, probably not the last of its kind.

Run DMC never promoted any violent tunes....shame it happened. We kicked up a little Run DMC this morning in remembrance.

RUN-DMC the voice of the ghetto for an entire generation.

The men that brough the sound of the hood to the suburbs and never looked back.

I remember back in the day (early - mid eighties) when it was all going down for the first time, That was the SHIT.

Rap lost one of the grandfathers of the form.

Mad respect and love to Jam master Jay and the Whole RUN family.

Jazzy Jeff is still a multi-platinum producer, has his own label (A Touch of Jazz with such stars as Musiq Soulchild and Jill Scott) and he still produces EVERY ONE of will smith's album....he doesnt need to be an actor to be paid
