Any CMS Software I Can Buy?

Looking for paysite Members Area CMS software where I can just buy an unlimited universal license, no hosting (will install on my own servers) and no monthly recurring bills. Must be responsive, lots of features, etc.

    Any out there?

For paysites, many of our clients use a mix of the following:
    ElevatedX
    KVS
    MechBunny
    WordPress
    Static
    custom

We just helped a client migrate to KVS. Result is looking pretty slick.
Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

    Windows VPS now available
Great for TSS, Nifty Stats, remote work, virtual assistants, etc.

Yes but most of these require a monthly fee, hosting, etc. I want to just buy the CMS software outright, host it (on Vacares) and be done with it. Do any on that list have this as a feature or do they all require monthly fees (like Elevated X)?

MechBunny and KVS are both outright.

KVS is single license, gets pricey for multiple sites. Mechbunny unlimited sites for a single payment I believe

KVS is priced at $499 each license. If you have members area hubs (many sites sharing the same members area) is good. It also has all the features needed to handle pay sites stuff.

I would suggest you reach out to the CMS developer that fits your need the best, and see if you can work out a deal. Usually go for the 80/20 split, where 20% of the price is updates and support.

I do it with all my partners - be it Plesk, Solarwinds, CA, Microsoft, Redhat or Canonical. The commitment have to go both ways, or else you are just a one-time customer. It's not uncommon to see 70-80% discounts if you can make a good business-case for both of you.

Mechbunny is a single purchase, no monthly fees. While it is technically a tube script, it's ultimately not that different from a members area and quite a few sites use it as such.

I have run most of the CMS´s people list here and in the end I kept only KVS.

Is KVS perfect!? NO, but is the one with more tools to do the job for members sites and no monthly fee. Let me know when you have available time on skype an will show you what I run with KVS.

most adult paysite cms dont update anymore, but you should definitely have the option to upgrade or get maintenance if you need to.

i used to sell an external license for PornCMS. i found over the years that a majority of site owners want a fully managed and hosted service. our servers are set up and managed specifically for PornCMS and the entire networked security system is designed for maximum protection and fast surfing/streaming.

upgrades become a problem for external/remote installs when a new module or upgrade is released. i push out tweaks/upgrades/bug fixes at least once a month, sometimes more. new features are free and instant for PornCMS hosted sites, but there's a time cost to upgrade an install on a remote server.

from my experience, i've found most external license clients don't want to pay for upgrades or maintenance. they expect upgrades to be included perpetually, or try to mess with the scripts themselves. you end up with a mess, one way or another.

i have a few PornCMS upgrades coming out this winter. the free newsletter manager/sender is just about done, and there's at least one new - free included - template coming out. upgrades are cool and useful. i want all my clients to enjoy new stuff without paying extra. external/remote installs get left behind and neglected.

its generally in your best interest to partner with your software providers/developers, which gets right back to Ferus' point

Thanks everyone for all the great answers and suggestions!

The issue for me is I have a Network of almost 100 paysites so integrating them all, rotating/displaying content Network-wide, becomes the challenge. Plus, I already have Hosting in place so the idea of moving my massive Network over to a new Host, run by the CMS provider, does not thrill me. LOL

But I will check out the suggestions made here.

If you tell a CMS provider you need license for 100 sites and you dont need support, just upgrades - they should be able to cut you a sweet deal. With a budget like that, you are close to break-even for creating your own cloud-native setup, so you can scale anywhere.

if the cms provider imports your content and sets up your templates, then its a pretty easy project for you.

if you install a cms on your own host, you still need to import all the content and build the sites to work with the cms.

i did a project with 120 sites a couple years ago. it was a lot of hours, even using PornCMS. i pulled the content from a content store (spider scripts). the template was centralized, so one template for all sites. it was basically one cms install and a site field in the db, then pulling the right site content based on the domain. colmike here wrote the meta data for their couple thousand videos.

anyways, yea, in my opinion the project is larger than just installing software on your host. its going to be a lot of work and hours too.

what cms are you working with now? are they html sites?

Hire a good developer(s) and have them make your own. There's lots of packages out there they can integrate along with adding in everything exactly as you want it. That's what we ended up doing. It may cost you less in the long run.

I am using and recommending MechBunny to all of my clients. It's scalable, easy to modify / add custom stuff and has years of development backwards. Really solid product. One time fee, use on as many domains as you need.

if you go with MechBunny, it sounds like this is the guy to talk to about customs and setup.

i wouldn't choose a cms if you don't see the developers on any of the boards. Konrad is here but others i haven't seen in years. the conversion will go better if the developer is involved.
