hosts with managed hosting services

im shopping around and looking through the managed services fees, all make sense but Choopas, at 250/mo. which i think is a mistake

how important is getting a managed server versus just winging it, our server does not do anything other than websites, which i just ftp do

any input on a hosts managed services fees?

Hello,

Managed server is needed when the client does not have time or does not know how to run a web server. For example a managed host will install and configure, apache, mysql,php and so forth. They will schedule backups, make sure the server is not hacked. There is a lot involved but the host pretty much does everything for you.

Pricing depends if you are looking for a host to manage your server elsewhere or you are looking to host the managed box on the same hosts network.

I totally agree with all that. When it comes to fully managed hosting there simply is nothing even cloce to the techie team. I never have to worry about my hosting, only need to work on my sites and making money.
