Interesting tip for you. We've actually found that the free software called FileZilla consistently outperforms other premium packages (CuteFTP, WS_FTP, etc) in upload throughput. Weird, had never occurred to me that there could be that much of a difference between packages but I've seen drastic differences with bunches of clients.
Good luck,
Brad

You might want to try FileZilla against CoreFTP's performance, I have seen an instance of it outperforming this as well.
I'll have to give it a look then.
I just wanted to give OP another option
I used to pay for Cuteftp and thought it was great, until someone talked me into trying coreftp...shocking that the freeware is better in almost every way from the program I was paying for.
I stick with cuteftp because I can edit the files on the server and I don' t have to download them to do it. Other apps may do this as well, but so far I've not ran across one that allows it.

Thanks for the tip Brad, will try this asap. I use FlashFXP, but I am not that happy with it.

Reason: typo
The only ftp program that has ever been able to hold and maintain a solid connection while uploading for me is CuteFTP 8 Pro. I used to use Smart FTP (freeware) and an old version of WS FTP, and tried a couple of others briefly, but they always dropped the connection in the middle of the night during a large upload.

Exactly, that's why I've used cuteftp for 10 years...never found anything else that let me edit on the server.
If you lost key, then you can request new one from program producer.
Also,i use flashfxp for ftp, winscp for sftp, and pengui net for ssh.
But since i use sftp only flashfxp is almost completely not needed.
this is not warez forum... (I would ban this thread starter...)
if you don't want to pay for some software - use freeware...
FileZilla is really good and it's free...
and there's even portable version from portableapps.com...

I edit on the server all the time with coreftp. Right click >> edit >>and the file pops open in notepad. I edit, file>>save>>close it, and then it asks me if I want to overwrite.
My prob with cuteftp was that sometimes I would be in the middle of a big upload, and it would all of a sudden start uploading stuff from a different folder, to a different server. It was really crazy. Happened all the time too.
