The movie was "dumbed down" to appeal to a wider audience. Nothing wrong with that. Not sure how you are trying to compare it to Dark Knight. Transformers is no where near as good as Dark Knight.
Michael Bay is an AWFUL story teller. Just plain awful. No character development. If you're content with big explosions and NO story I suggest a box of matches and fireworks. Those will have more depth than a Michael Bay movie.Comment

The plot was non existent and many scenes should have been left on the cutting room floor for example the random Decepticon disguised as smoking hot college girl. They found another hot chick and HAD to fit her in, was an afterthought and it didn't belong.
