When I left the program, it was rocking... I made a business choice to leave and being so, I started a Content Plugin.
My history, would prove my point even more. As things started to get stale (in my eyes), I moved on.. I followed a new trend. I didn't "expect" it to be the same years down the road. I have done CJ's, and TGP's, and now Tubes, and Paysites, and Plugins, and Content Companies, and Designs, and the list goes on and on..
Not failed business.. it's how I have my skills.
People get STUCK in the rut, and are afraid to move, they aren't doing new niches, they aren't marketing differently, they aren't thinking outside the box because they are locked inside of it.

Let me say this. A long time ago, when i was first lurking on this board, i saw you post that your house mortgage was paid off. id say that was about 4 years ago. i remember this because this was around the time i got my house, was stuck with a big payment each month, and thinking it would be nice to have at least a few hundred k around to do that, wow, how did thedoc do that? sort of thing
then some time later, i dont remember if you posted it, or if i somehow picked it up some other way, but it was thrown out that you had to make a mortgage payment every month (like everyone else)
at that moment i labeled you a bullshitter (in my eyes) and have taken your posts with skeptisicm
then i saw you throw your shit around in this thread, with a self-righteous "stomping on steves grave" attitude and it ignited me.

About 4 years ago would have been in the house in S. Az, that we sold, thus no house payment. I will always have a house payment though, I move around every few years for like the last 15 years. But I'm not sure why me having or not having a payment is a factor of anything.

I don't have time to read 2 pages, but I do know that Steve and Lightspeed are in tact. I also know that posting on GFY or not does not necessarily represent a viable business or not.
From CCBTools I have had so many clients that... ready for this... don't even know that GFY exists or that adult webmaster trade shows happen. Yet these same clients are making a ton of cash on the web just like those who do post here.

I haven't been privy to concrete stats in several months, however seeing 'top affiliates' earning less isn't necessarily an accurate reflection of how things are or how stable a business is - not when you take into account variables like there were far less solo girl sites 3-4 years ago and affiliates have diversified where their traffic goes, and no one here really knows how much an affiliate base has grown over a few years. It is conceivable to have a scenario where top affiliates are earning less, but the overall active affiliate base has grown and the volume makes up the difference. Add on top of that that most programs don't rely entirely on affiliate traffic to make up their base.
One thing is for certain - Steve branded the company so well that even months after his last posts here, people are still talking about it
