    ElevatedX vs KVS

    I'm looking for a bit of GFY wisdom. I am not a developer, just the guy that needs to buy the right things and know just enough to hire a developer.

    So what I am trying to decide on is a CMS for adult paysites that is robust, relatively easy to use, and has decent features built in or easily integrated. Been looking at ElevatedX and KVS.

    I am looking for:
    Good security (videos and site)
    Simplicity in content management
    Easily editable templates
    Permissions by content and pages for 2 levels of member subscription (standard & premium)
    NATS integration
    Video encoding
    Token payment system for tipping models

    I also need an e-commerce solution integrated into our sites.

    For ElevatedX I like that it has some features such as VOD built in. I don't like that the back end seems to have a steeper learning curve, and it doesn't seem to support using a CDN or multiple servers. For KVS I like that the back end is a bit more user friendly, and it has built in token payment system.

    I have been having sites built in Wordpress but not super happy going that route again.

    What do you all think? I've read through the forums about this stuff but most relevant posts are from years ago...

      KVS templates are not easy to work with and it's not cheap to hire a developer to work on it if you can even find someone. I would go with ElevatedX but that's just my opinion. They have amazing support and run a lot of adults big brands and websites.

          What's KVS?

          I just ran into this one: Features | ClickcastX 5.0 - Adult CMS
          It has a camming plugin

          We use Elevated X its very easy to use (clubdom.com)

                      I run a huge paysite Network and I have checked out all kinds of CMS options, including every big one on the market. But since I have a developer and a web designer I do not need the zillions of options many CMS products offer. So I am currently working on my own custom CMS and this is what I suggest for you.

                      However: if you want your sites to look like everyone else's, and to 'set 'n forget' your sites, then perhaps a professional CMS is what you need. But remember there is usually a monthly cost associated with most CMS products so if you do the math it's actually cheaper in the end to build a CMS for yourself with just the Features you need as opposed to have every option under the sun which you most likely will never use.

                          Elevated X is way too expensive. Just make a simple custom cms.

                              ElevatedX and KVS both use Smarty. The only difference is you can literally do anything with KVS that you could want, and with ElevatedX, you're fairly limited - that's because of feature set, though, not templating.

                              OP, you can use either and likely be happy. Would you rather pay $495 one time and never pay again or pay around that per month as well as for support in many cases?

                                  It's been awhile since we took on a KVS job so maybe they updated. I just know they had a LOT of template files and it was very time consuming. I'll have to look into their system again.

                                          ElevatedX all the way. It is robust, reliable, and the price of $150 a month ends up being REALLY cheap when you consider how many man-hours you will save.
                                          Go with ElevatedX! By the way, they don't use Smarty anymore, it's regular PHP now.

                                              Thanks for the insight and sounds like you are in a lucky position. I'm looking at a custom solution with a development company, but it's a big investment... more than I can justify right now. And to manage a project like that, even if I did have a developer I trust, is scary as I just don't have the background in all the technologies. I was hoping to find something pre-made like ElevatedX but that will allow a decent amount of front end design changes so I end up with a site that doesn't look like everyone else... but at a reduced cost from custom.

                                                  Hey that's interesting! I understood the opposite... the ElevatedX had more robust features. Or maybe you mean something different when you say "feature set"?

                                                          I have used PORNCMS, played with Elevated X, KVS, Wordpress.

                                                          Elevated X is quality if you have all the functions like landing pages, and billing all setup. Dicking around is the last thing you want to do when you can have software to do the trivial shit for you.

                                                          I used KVS as a tube site and love them. You can set it up as a pay site if you get the premium. Which I trust them for assistance in your needs.

                                                          If you want to stand out, use Zuzanna for your templates and stuff.
