    Common anti-virals that fight protease (the enzyme needed to replicate) showed strong promise against SARS - but it ended before they could do more public studies. It might be a good time to invest in these drug companies. Similar principal behind Tamiflu - it shortens the flu but more importantly reduces the complications and secondary infections (which is what kills people).

        Earlier today Sweden reported its first case of the corona virus. I know healthcare is already on its knees. If the virus would take a hold here people would die like flies, it would literally turn into chaos.

            Its not a virus that kills people like flies, it kills them like the common cold. Every yearly flu, many originating in North America has the potential to infect humans at the same rate as "Novel Coronavirus 2019"

            Should the world lock down every country that has a flu outbreak? and the answer to that is probably yes! but we don't.

            Shit hits the fan if they allow the Chinese markets to reopen on Monday as planned.. their market is designed for crashes and limited to a 10% sell off so somewhat protected, but the rest of us aren't.

            At this point in time Coronavirus has saved more lives in China than its taken, road fatalities have fallen to 0 during the biggest holiday season of the year.

            With a sad cheer..

                    Russia shares the biggest border with China, more people fly in and out of Wuhan via direct flights from Russia daily than they do from Sydney.

                    At this stage it would be next to impossible for Russia to have only two cases.

                    The only people who we know don't have the virus are in quarantine.. because they've been tested, every other person is a potential carrier or infected.

                    China delivered 58 billion parcels around the world to every street on earth in 2018, in 2019 and 2020 that number would of greatly increased. Many hand packed and kissed for good luck!

So not a baldy prediction and no doubt something that's been changed since, because more data is available. However collection of the data is proving the biggest headache

Either intentionally lowered, or they are artifically lowered due to bandwidth reasons in that they can only test so many people. There is currently 400 million chinese under some form of quarantine. I've read that on average 30k people in china die every day between accidents, old age, illnesses, etc. 50 daily from pneumonia alone. You do not quarantine 5% of the earths population for 600 dead. It's far worse.

                                                                                                                                        I think its somewhat worse due to lack of kits and communication but mostly its just a big over reaction where the economic fall out will be far greater than the human cost.
