    Business For those who are interested ... Google January 2020 Core Update rolling out right now.

    Yesterday, Google announced that it is releasing a core broad update named the January 2020 Core Update. It's rolling out to the various data centers over the coming days.

    Check your G traffic because it is a "BIG" update.

                                      Does this mean that most of you see no change in the traffic they get from Google after this January core update?

                                      I can only speak for myself of course, ... but for us the results are VERY good. For example, in 4 days on one of our sites, the Google traffic has quadrupled from 4K to 16K per day (and it is still climbing).

                                      Strange that there is not much talk or little commotion about this google core update, so I assume that for most there is little or no change?

                                      What are the results for you?

                                              I'm up slightly, but I stopped keyword targeting a while ago to focus on core compliance, site speed, and overall making the user experience better. Looks like google is continuing its focus on natural-language content and rewarding UX. (not articles filled with "find out all this and the solutions in this article" kind of language).

                                                              I'm not an SEO guy but I do get enough through my TGP network to notice any widespread, big changes. From nearly 200 sites in my network, I've noticed no significant changes in total. Could be because of the type of sites I have.

                                                                  One site dropped from 1400 hits a day from Google to 5. No explanation, no manual actions. Nothing. It's like they jus decided all rankings should drop. It's a two year old site.

                                                                                  There has been a lot of movement in the serps since this update. Even today there is an upward trend. It hasn't settled yet.
