Why does anyone actually try to sell Porn?

How does anyone actually make money selling access to porn movies when exclusive stuff just gets stolen instantly 24/7? seems pretty pointless.

    From one of my clients:

Im so upset, I can't fucking win!
I just released a new video less than 48 hours ago and these assholes are sharing the link already. I got it taken down after some guys got it, and he plans to share it again.

They will over and over again until everyone on that board that wants it, gets it.

I tried to get that DMCA company to try to help me and they said that they tried to close this company down before and they can't because they are overseas.

and their webhost is over seas also and says that its freedom of speech and they can post whatever they want.
What can I do, they seem untouchable they just share my stuff everyday.

This company Orangewebsite on the website it says that they don't even care about what the name of who they host is, they just want them to pay the bill.
    they require no other information

    https://www.orangewebsite.com/articl...ech-amendment/

We also do not respond to DMCA Takedown requests; any legal action to censor your website must be filed in Icelandic court and approved by an Icelandic judge. Because of our very lenient laws, this is rare.
So if you basically want to host any amount of stolen shit you want... there's your host..

Well, copyright infringement is a criminal offence, they are located in Europe, so I would contact his hosting company/domain registrar and ask them if they want me to file a police complaint since they support criminals. If no reply, I would hire a lawyer and make him contact them the official way. Of course, it depends on the damage.
    no sig, sorry

Those still creating and selling their own porn are getting less and less. A far cry from the late 90s when porn wasn't free everywhere.

But there's still money to be made in the porn industry. Solo girls with very low budgets can get sales by promoting themselves and getting a few loyal fans. Once they get too many they suffer the same fate other sites do.

Then there are Tubes and though most only earn minimum wage they don't require a lot of work and can be done as a part-time task. Unless you're one of the biggest who do make money.

If you're going to lose sleepover piracy I suggest you find something else to do. Because few really create porn so unique the viewer has to buy that brand and if it's not pirated the viewer will go to something similar and download their version. So you have still lost sales.

The profit in hiring a lawyer on $500 an hour to prosecute web pirates for porn are long gone.

VR porn sells fantastically. You can get the best quality with pirated stuff. We create 30 files from 1 high specs video to match each headset maximum performance. Also easy Netflix like SexLikeReal Premium access makes it hard to justify porn.
          VR porn is SexLikeReal.

Big money in VR porn those days

What we have learned over the last 20 years is shooting a scene in HD, 3D, VR doesn't guaranty success. That only comes by shooting content the consumer wants to pay for. In the right quantity to justify success.

We are doing our specific content and sell from our own streaming VOD site. Our revenue is essentially the same as 10 years ago. Yes, we fight pirates every day, but with some small exceptions we did manage clean up the worse offenders.

Very often the domain and hosting company's will do very little. Just hit the upstream provider for the host. That usually does the trick.

Don't worry about it. Go after the worst offenders the best you can and just move on. The % of people 'stealing' or downloading for free or sharing vs. the average consumer is tiny (2-5%) so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Content creators tho are very protective of their work, which is understandable. But from a business perspective it's really just the cost of doing business in the porn industry in 2020.

                        This is good stuff.

Piracy will happen almost certainly. OP's client should ensure pirate links don't appear on the first page of search results. After that, attempting to hunt down everything else may be a waste of time.

Siterip communities aren't your customers. Don't waste time and money playing whack-a-mole, focus on growing traffic and optimizing conversions/retention. DMCA anything that appears on google for your brands.

If you're going to lose sleep, waste time and money pursuing pirates you'll lose focus on doing the important things. Creating a great product, getting it to customers, running your company, etc.

                                      + set daily download limits
                                      + block shithole countries
+ inform everyone that it is prohibited to share the content on internet as many don't even realize they can't do that
+ use large watermarks and change their position in the video

Love what SpicyM just shared, these are great tricks.
                                        May I add;

                                        - Make quality content (there's always ppl who pay for it)
                                        - Zen the noise out and concentrate on your paying customers (give perks, attentions etc...) while trying to educate the rest of the idiots who think everything is free on the internet.

Since it's a war no one can win, just brush it up and keep doing your best.

                                          May I add;

Very well said. Content is king and people still pay for quality content

our turn over has doubled since last year, also, our income now doesn´t just keep us in Spain, we´re purchasing goods every month. We produce exclusive porn and sell clips or membership...

Other ideas for this year inc. higher quality films, scenes with stories and niche, this will in turn create a higher sale on more dvds. We´re also hoping to possibly sell older content to other companies & private tube owners.

                                                From one of my clients:

So if you basically want to host any amount of stolen shit you want... there's your host..

It's not worth the time, effort and money to go after those guys. The people on those sites are not the people that would pay for the content anyway. Just ignore them and make sure the company you use for takedowns clears them from the Google search results, that's all you need.

I suppose they pay for their comfort, not for porn itself. For example, for good selection, not searching for a long time, good quality.

Content creators tho are very protective of their work, which is understandable. But from a business perspective it's really just the cost of doing business in the porn industry in 2020.

The content creators who spend a lot of time stressing over this are the same ones who aren't growing their businesses.

The same reason they pay for cable,Internet or other entertainment options. Not everybody is a fucking thief, some folks are honest and understand that one way to kill new content is to keep stealing the old one. No need to be an Einstein to get that. But in your world I guess stealing is OK...

Marketing will only get people to look at a product, from there on the product has to reflect what the marketing promises. This is even more true with a product that relies on repeat buyers.

Fresh water isn't clean or portable, so people buy it in bottles for safety and convenience.
Fur coats are a status symbol and a 1 off buy.

Porn is a monthly purchase that relies on customer satisfaction. Customers who aren't happy to pay $30 to download 3-4 months supply of porn aren't the problem. The problem is porn marketing men promises are mostly bullshit.

There are some great porn scenes done today, with models really getting off, portraying fantasies perfectly, etc. The problem is all the dross one has to sort out before one hits on the real thing.
