Yes I do ... I love when those whales swim in. Congrats I had a nice one yesterday from Germany.
Yep. I have had days where you either get...
1. One dude who buys $200-300.00 worth of clips in a single transaction.
2. He buys throughout the day/week, and racks up same dollar amount.
I always wonder why they just do not buy a membership for the $29.95 when it is advertised, but oh well. Whether it is a preference of delivery method, or it is dick in hand, not thinking clearly, more money for me.

My friend asked that question of a customer who bought a mountain of clips. He said he got fucked so hard with prechecked cross sales he will never buy a membership ever again.

I have a guy to date that has spent over 2000 dollars and that is his reason for not joining paysites LOL, yeah lots get fucked but some get lucky, I still think I lose out in the memberships and my ratios are below everything I see so I do not bother even saying it with the haters but you know what....... nope
Our site is coming soon. It will be one of the best ever! I know so. Brian and Penny

Comparatively speaking, yes it is a whale. The guy spent $138, BF's cut was $83. He could have joined a website and only spent, what, $30 ??? And it was only 1 sale, that's twice as much as 1 of your PPS. You're a "half empty" kind of guy aren't you?

too bad you got jipped 40% from c4s
why not get a regular processor if you will sell so many clips? 40% is a shitload of money
C4S supplies a lot of their own traffic to a store, so much like an affiliate that takes 50% or more, C4S's 40% cut is a bargain to make an extra sale. There are also a lot of people that specifically trust C4S and prefer to make their clip purchases from C4S. I agree however, if you are supplying your own traffic, you are better off using your own processor for your clip sales, assuming that you can make your site attractive enough to convert.

if your sending your own traffic chances are it tops the traffic/sales c4s is sending you
hence the 40% lost is still at a loss, not to mention they take 40% on all the sales you send yourself
It's extra money.
60% extra money on content from your pay site you are already cashing in on. Another 60% on top of the DVD you are already selling. Extra loot on top of the content you are licensing.
So in other words champ, "Don't leave money on the table".

What he is asking is why would you pay them the full 40% to process when you can set up your own store, send your self the traffic you send them, and only pay whatever your processing fee is with your processor... typically 15% and under.
Does C4S send a lot of sales with their traffic to make up for that 40%? Setting up a store with them sounds great, basically free money like you said. But if you are sending any kind of volume to your own clip store, wouldn't it make you a load of more cash running your own processing?

I am aware of what he is asking chief.
Jim Gunn and Fungus (among others) run their own clip stores using PhantomFlixxx back end, and the token system. Why not ask them? Compare their stores to the Clips4Sale (or other clip stores).
Myself personally from experience, short answer...
1. Clips4Sale has brand recognition and trust of surfers.
2. Clips4Sale buys a advertising, and traffic.
3. Clips4Sale has a solid niche clientele already in place.
4. Clips4Sale already has processing in place.

Sly, when I set up my first C4S clip store containing mostly lesbian videos on C4S over a year ago I was relying almost completely on their traffic and I managed to sell a few thousands of dollars worth of clips over a period of several months. Clip sales have slowed down a lot since then but that was nice extra money. Plus I redirect some of that C4S traffic to my other sites, which presumably made more money from my blogs, cams etc. I still make some sales on C4S even though I haven't updated the store recently, and I am starting some new clips stores to keep that going.
More recently I did exactly what you said and started my own downloadable clip site on my own domain with processing at 4.9% and I send my own traffic to it. Of course, this isn't necessarily a perfect substitute for C4S, since there may be some people who prefer the C4S environment. How you set up your own store and tour and other factors may come into play. I actually think it pays to keep links to both C4S and your own stores. That way you get them either way if they are predisposed to buy anything at all. C4S has a minimum price based on clip length so it works out that my clip prices on C4S are higher anyway to make up for the 40% cut, and I offer short little sub-clips on C4S and Clips.com that I do not offer on my independent clip store which also make sales a few bucks at a time.

i lol'd that's more than a naive miscalculation ...
1) You not only need a processor, but you need a server, bandwidth, script, backup solution - depending on the revenue of the store this percentage varies of course
2) People KNOW + TRUST sites likes C4S, YooGirls, Fetishvideos and others even if they do not know YOU => you'll see conversion 2-3x times better on this sites than sending to your own
3) You've nearly nothing to support, there are always people that don't know how to order/download/etc. - but that's not your problem as it's not your site - the site will handle this support - the only customers you've to deal with are the ones sending requests, etc.
4) Traffic for all kinds of (micro-)niches is usually there - try to get a good amount of high quality (micro-)niche traffic and you'll see how important that is for small stores
So ... if that's all so fucking easy - why don't you start a competitive site? Could earn you huge money if it's easy done - right?
