Game of thrones viewing habits

Believe it or not, but I have never watched a complete episode of game of thrones. With that said it seems I'm actually part of a minority.

It just never caught my interest.

What about you? Any hardcore fans around?

I never watched a complete episode, but it is amazing how many ads there are for it. I spent more time watching ads and commercials for game of thrones.

to be honest it never caught on for me either. the first 3 or 4 episodes are horribly drawn out and absolute horrible shit happens to otherwise likeable characters... then it gets a bit worse... then you are curious as to what happens next. Then some awesome shit happens and you want to know what happens next. Then the finale and its the best thing ever... and you can't wait for the next season.

Keep in mind i didn't watch past the 2nd or 3rd episode for over 2 years... but it IS great. It's not perfect but its fantastically entertaining. The characters, the drama, most of the writing is unmatched. I would give it a shot with an open mind. Often people go into these things expecting a life changing experience and then feel left disappointed because the expectations were so high. but this one is worth a shot i promise you.

The last season sucked.
There is a discrepancy with the power of a weapon during its differents uses which is totally ridiculous.
One of the main character becomes crazy while it doesnt make much sense (too fast, not clear).
The lighting during an important battle is very bad.
The super vilain dies in the middle of the season in a lame way.
With only poor knowledges of strategy you understand that the battleS dont make much sense.
Especially the useless charge of the cavalry (the fire blades were even not expected, also you dont use a calvary like that).
The 2 first episodes are fillers.
The number of soldiers doesnt make much sense from one battle/episode to another.
No explanation given for the evolution of the army from heroe (fight for free against the night king) to bastards (massacre of the population while the opposite army surrendered).
Actor service to make them look better: the sex scene with the strong independent woman. The little girl that kills the giant. The strong independent woman that kills the evil guy...
(And then she becomes useless....).
Also the scenario is ridiculously poor to justify a season.
This serie was based on political plot and it finishes with overmighty dragons?
Once we know their power it loses all interest...
Meh...

But up to the season 7 the show was quite enjoyable...

... and the prisonner is the one that is gonna select who is gonna be the king...
The choice for the king is also a bit questionable....

Honestly not the slightest intrigued and absolutely not enough to start thinking of purchasing the first season.

On the other hand star trek: discovery season 2 will be released on bluray in November. Looking forward to it.

I'll be a big snob here, sorry... I tried watching Season 1, hated it because when I read the books my imagination was doing a much better job, and gave up on it. The books are not as dirty, and way better. I wish Martin'd finish them.

I kinda got into it a bit around season 3 to 4, but I was drinking a lot then, and cant remember much about it other than I was in the habit of watching it

With a great anticipation I watched Season 1 Episode 1 and the great opening when the horse mounted warriors emerged from a huge ice wall.....Wow said I ! about 15 minutes in with all the dialogue "mumbo jumbo":"Mamrakis will attack Bubrakis and we defend the Dumrakis the without the help of Bugrakis we shall all persih in Kumrakis maelstrom"

at that point I gave up and never went back. Suffice to say that because of the T&A it became the most popular series ever. So along with you and others here we are in the minority....

I think because of the T&A a new saying became popular : It is not PORN, if it is HBO.

The last season ruined the entire series for me.

If you haven't seen it yet and are plan on watching it.. Skip the last season.

The writing was so shit it made all the other episodes totally irrelevant.. Which took a shit ton of effort in maintaining the individual plot lines.
