I won稚 answer emails from my banks or health providers. I値l go to their website and contact them directly. I explain why and sometimes I知 called paranoid. I tell them better paranoia than identify or credit card theft.
Spelling, grammar and punctuation errors are the key to phishing schemes. And addressing them to Purple Laptop is the stupidest thing to do. The above email is laughable after you read the first two sentences. Sentence structure, spelling and punctuation errors tell you that the email is from Botswana or East Fuckingham or North Virgineeya.
I致e never fallen for these but in 1992 the first spam I got was from my bank. I filled out the forms on the website but something indicated that they thought I was Pamalian. Tiny print on the bottom of the page had my name and email address. Mr. Pamalian tipped me off and I erased my entries. My computer guru was angry at himself for not warning me about this issue.
