    My internet is working but I can't browse.. help.

    Guys,

    on my laptop.. the internet is working and it is connecting fine "downloads updates, outlook" but for some reason the browsers stopped working (ie, firefox) everytime I open either of them it says page cannot be displayed..

    This happened all of the sudden, any ideas?

      did microsoft update anything..

      a few times my computer got fucked up because of microsoft updates.. and I would just backup to an earlier date.

                  No, just all of the sudden browsers stopped working.. but connection was fine.

                          try a other dns for example 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 from opendns and see what happens then.

                                          it happened right after avast expired on me

                                              Damn i'm trying hard as hell what caused this as it happened to me a couple of times.
                                              I think it's your ISP mainly. If i recall, i had nothing to do with it.
