Need Help Removing A Virus Please

I'm sure you have all dealt with one virus or another. I was in a site on Google yesterday when a virus protection window came up which I thought was my virus protection, telling me that this was a dangerous site & to click on the link if I didn't want to get a virus, which I did & that's when my PC crashed.
From the scan software that I have it's showing me that I have 'boot virus' & that my 'E' drive is locked preventing windows to reboot. I ran all my virus scan software & it's not showing that I have anything. Besides getting a new PC or hard drive, does anyone know how to restore my PC please?

    Buy a new one...

Start in safe mode (tap the F8 key while it's booting) then try running system restore.

exactly. if it fails (some virus and trojans disallow it), try using an online virus scanner. Do you at least know the name of the virus you have in the boot? that could help

Yes, the name of the boot virus is 'Trend Chipaway Virus.' It locks windows from opening.

So, it's more of a case of the cure being worse than the disease than a virus, m?

I usually end up reformating the whole computer over something like this.

In fact these days I Ghost a image of the hard drive.

I just won't waste time trying to remove some of these viruses in which many of the newer ones will leave your OS permanently damaged upon removal anyway.

I swear I would pay to kick a virus programmer in the teeth
