Takes some bread, soak it in milk and place it over the splinter. Wrap it up with gauze or cloth to hold it in place. Remove it when the bread is dried out and the splinter will be in the bread.

My grandmother used to make her own black salve. It really does work like magic.

It's called a Bread Poultice.

My Mom used to do it to get out my splinters when I was a little kid. The important part was it was painless but it was also kinda fun to go through the process and then see the splinter magically appear. Great way to get splinters out for a kid.

These days when I get a splinter I just dig it out with my Rambo knife.

People were probably burned at the steak for doing this a couple hundred years ago.

Leave it alone. Yes it will be painful for a day or two but after that it will develop what looks like a blister around it. Wait a few more days and it will basically come out by itself.

If ANY part of the splinter is showing just put a drop of super glue on the spot. Let dry, then peel the superglue off. Have done it many times for my grandchildren and myself. Works MOST of the time.

Get a candle and drip the hot wax onto the place where the splinter is, the heat will draw it out.

Is it pressure treated? If so go to the hospital you can die if it stays in long. If not the soak your finger in water thing.

I always have luck with tweezers. I don't know about that superglue or wax solution. Seems like it would rip off more skin than necessary. But, if it works for grandma, I guess you can't go wrong.
