I doubt Marvel made their choice for the new Blade based on how much money the actor would require. Any difference would be a drop in the bucket compared to the overall expense of the flick...and how much it could possibly make in profits. The decision to cast Ali is definitely about who is popular now and just refreshing the franchise. Snipes can't really do that.
Will they make a better Blade movie than Blade 2? I find that hard to believe.
