think about that, that's some heavy ish. so my life has been ruined by drugs along with my looks, probably lost a lot of relationships along the way and I fought hard to get clean only to discover that I will never feel good again?
in that place I'd be fuck it, pass the pipe
that process of destroying the ability to feel pleasure starts on hit one, dopamine production and storage is being affected. on hit 2 serotonin and dopamine neurons start getting fried. whatever emotions or place in life caused one to want to pick up a meth pipe; it's amplified the moment one comes down. and chances are one is around people doing meth. the cycle continues...
considering how badly it fucks with the brain and appearance I'm honestly amazed that anyone can get long term clean from that drug

Actually the reward centers begin to function again after a clean year. And they don't get fried that quickly. To borrow from heroin terminology, that is just people chasing the dragon. In late stage meth use, real brain damage occurs, and there isn't much coming back from that. A 3 year addict can come back. She probably can't. In her head she isn't really herself anymore - she is already physiologically dead.
