You are taking things out of context here.

Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor - a very small, petty offense. What we are dong right now is arresting peope for what is a misdemeanor and locking up in jail "until further notice". Think about this for a moment. Let's say you jump in your car to get go some ice cream but you left your wallet at home and you get pulled over. Not having your DL with you while driving is a misdemeanor traffic offense, and before you know you it you are suddenly in jail in a cell designed to hold twenty-five people but now it's got one hundred and fifty-one people in it, there is one crapper, you don't get a toothbrush, and you get to sit in this cell until the court is able to hear your case - which might be months or up to a year. And if you children are with you, they can either go to jail with you or they can take them from you and you might not EVER see them again.

This is what's happening to people coming across the border. They come across the border, delcare aslyum, and we legally are required to hear their plea. Which means we through them in jail "until further notice" and then they sit in jail in the above listed condiations. And they might never see their kids again.

This is a crime against humanity.

Why not make this a civil offense, hand them a ticket, send them on their way, and tell them to come back to court on a specific date. Make it so that if they do not show up it is a felony, and then they go to jail just like any other American citizen... And then they get deported.

The problem here is under the tRump administration we are locking them in horrible conditions, denying them their rights, and punishing them without sentencing. The tRump administration is causing this. We need to go back to the way the immigration system has always been.

Here in Australia, our close neighbouring countries like New Zealand have free access, they can come and go as they please, get FULL Government benefits while here, free medical, old age pension, unemployment, single parent... what ever an Australians entitled to they can get. It's one of the reasons 1 in 5 New Zealand Maori live in Aus.

The wall isn't a fake subject for enough voters to swing the election. Something the Democrats don't understand.

Anyone who wants asylum should go to the legal border crossing and apply for it. If they're fearful of the Mexican authorities they need to be housed securely in America. Otherwise they're allowed to stay in Mexico until their application is approved or denied.

Anyone caught crossing the border needs to be given the option of going back or getting kept until their asylum is sorted out.

Letting them go is stupid. Criminals, terrorists, unwanted in general will not turn up for their court date. Will you let go Middle Eastern males who have sneaked into the country?

Setting up a deal with a neighbouring country is a great idea, if the neighbouring country is more or less the same level as you. Not so great when the neighbouring country is a shit hole.
