It's not that bad of a move with the team they have, and that they want to win now.

And having ALL DAY running the ball, and chester taylor as well. They don't need to pass 45 times a game.

                          So yeah

                          It could work

                                It's not a done deal.

'The report further indicates Favre's intent to consider signing with the Minnesota Vikings ' He is old and it will take him some time to recover. I just don't see how he is going to be in football shape by July when mini camp starts

Vikings would do much better to develop their young QB than wasting a season with a broke down Brett.

                                      I'd usually agree.

However, look who the "young QB" is. I don't believe Jackson will *ever* develop into a NFL starting calibre QB - much less a franchise QB. Maybe a good backup QB, or a "game manager" type of quarterback. But not someone I want leading my team for 10 years.

The other side is that the Vikings currently have a talent-laden roster. The best running game in the league. A very potent defense.

Get a QB in there that can make proper reads, but rely on the running game first, and we become instantly better without said QB making a single throw. I still think Brett would have to prove he can still get it done in the first few games (teams will still focus soley on the run until the vikes they can win through the air), but just moving 1 or 2 defenders back into coverage instantly makes the Peterson/Taylor combo so much more potent.

That said, there are a lot of downsides to the deal as well. I, for one, am for it. If nothing else, Brett is *fun* to watch. He goes to win games, vs. just make a halfass effort like we've had the past few years. If he isn't relied on as the primary "weapon" on offense I think the results could be amazing. It remains to be seen if he can adapt to such a role though.

Basically, I want an inspired Offense. Last year, if Peterson didn't have the ball you knew the drive was over. So predictable it wasn't even enjoyable to watch other than for the occasional big run. Watching a QB line up, audible when he sees 8 in the box with man on man coverage, then switch to a pass would be amazing.

So.. Should be fun if it goes through and Favre is in decent form. Hell, it's worth it just for the Green Bay games this year

I'm not a Packer fan, but I have to say, if he goes to the Vikings, one of the Packers biggest rivals, I think Packer fans will burn his jersey and his whole Packer career will be extremely tainted by it.

IF it does happen, it'll sure make for an interesting game when the Vikings come to Green Bay on Nov 1st.

LOL what a slap in Tavarius Jackson's face. Brett Favre is washed up, he still makes the same mistakes a rookie does so will he really be an improvement in the long run?

The off season signing of Sage Rosenfels was already telling Jackson that he is not the future QB of the Vikings. Come on, he's not that good. Jackson will not be the QB of the Vikings in 2015, just not gonna happen.

The Vikings have an amazing offensive line, one of the top defenses in the league, the best RB in football, and an amazing backup who can take 150 rushes this year with ease, plus a TE with good hands in Visanthe Shiancoe, and top WR threat in Bernard Berrian and having rookie Percy Harvin on the other side, and Sidney Rice in the slot and you have the makings of a great great NFL offense.

Favre is a gun slinger, and if his arm is fixed gives them a very good shot at going all the way. If he can pass 20ish times a game they will be a real threat.

Vikings would do much better to develop their young QB than wasting a season with a broke down Brett.
