Now wouldn't it be funny if a few people had domains they aren't using, preferably ones with unsavory names, which they just happened to put up redirects to Governor Palin's page?

What is even more sad than them not understanding a redirect and all of that. Checking into the rules of the state seal of Alaska and the only thing I can find is this.

(a) A person may not use or make a die or impression of the state seal for any advertising or commercial purpose, unless written permission has first been obtained from the lieutenant governor.

Do not even think they would of misused the state seal even if they had it up on their site before it fowarded - which they did not but still come on.

I am actually very amazed that they figured out how to read the reffering log files, despite the crackho site geting almost zero traffic - yet they do not understand a simple redirect nor even their own state laws on the seal usage.

I'm not even sure that they *did* read the referrer logs. I think more likely, somebody noticed that (from their perspective) crackho.com was illegally displaying the Alaska seal and Sarah Palin's picture, and they sent a cease-and-desist.

I think that if they really had checked their referrer logs, they would have figured out that their beloved Alaska seal wasn't actually on the crackho server at all.

Splum's comment notwithstanding, I do think it would be an amusing exercise to watch the attorney general's office send tons of takedown notices to servers that have no content to take down. I doubt it would get much in the way of publicity (and therefore, it would not be likely to raise much awareness), but it would certainly annoy her and her staff, and possibly further indicate how vain and utterly clueless she is.
