    MediaMax - Pay PER Upgrade - WTF

    So I purchased a legal fetish tube on here not too long ago..
    I was going to use the audio feature to promote phone sex.. and video branding too..

    I go purchase the upgrade to the media max software...
    and they want to charge me for EACH versions upgrade...

    Here's what he said:
    You are running v1.3.3, the following upgrades are needed:
    1.3.3 to 1.3.4
    1.3.4 to 1.3.5
    1.3.5 to 1.3.6
    1.3.6 to 1.3.7
    1.3.7 to 2.0
    2.0 to 2.0.1
    2.0.1 to 2.0.2
    2.0.2 to 2.1.0
    2.1.0 to 2.1.1
    2.1.1 to 2.2.0
    2.2.0 to 3.0

    Total - $60 x 11 = $660

    Your version is very old, which is why so much upgrades are needed, we always advise clients to update their websites when a new version is released.
    My question to him.. is couldn't I just get my server to backup my videos for me... in the database? and just delete everything and start over?

    I think he sees a chick's name and is wanting to rip me off...

          how much cost that , full price? Maybe you get 60$ update just for next version of softer, and 60$ for next etc... If not you need to buy FULL price software.

                  Full price is $299.. which I paid for.
                  I paid for a BRAND NEW version license..
                  But he's telling me to upgrade.. I've got to pay for each stair step...
                  So $299 + the $660.

                  My question is.. can't my server just backup the database part with the videos and members.. delete everything.. and install it as a stand alone?

                      I realize there are fancier, more expensive ones out there.. but this was simple and fulfilled my needs...

                      Now I just need to hear from one of you script dudes if it's possible for me to back up the members and videos database...

                          fuck that!! ...I'm guessing you should be able to backup everything from the sql db and the folder the videos are located ?

                              could always hire a coder to import the old data to the new cms, make the new cms seo links or video links identical.

                                          Ugh. They're also telling me that because I purchased the account... I need to pay for video branding again...

                                          I told him that the previous owner never used the video branding upgrade.. thus they never did the work that came with it... so I should get the 5 mins of uploading and linking...

                                          But they're really trying to shaft me.. and I think it all has to deal with seeing a chick name like "Brandi" in the emails...
                                          If I were a dude.. they would not be pushing me around like this...

                                          It's kinda like the air filter at the oilchange place....
