Pretty sure he's posted since with a different nick. He posted every day here for three years, then after he received donations he stopped abruptly. well, contrary to popular belief, people can just stop visiting this board, for whatever reason..
so either his son was really sick and he dedicated his time to help him and to work extra offline jobs as he said, or he just scammed "us" for $20k (or whatever the amount was), laughed about it and moved on to other things...
but yeah, obviously he can be still here under whatever nick now, I just don't think he is..I don't use ICQ anymore.Comment

Most people here have the tendency to exaggerate their earnings, it's quite possible that New Carrer was just barely making a living in adult, or treating it as beer money.
He was a known member of the community, his son got cancer, the world changed for him (as it would for evryone), he collected the donations, made 1-2 threads with update about his son, and then just started working extra jobs offline and abandoned whatever he had going on in this biz, including GFY. I'm well aware that people can just stop posting, just seemed highly coincidental of the timing as he was getting some heat from a few in here. I don't think he scammed, I do think he jumped the gun coming to gfy immediately upon hearing of his son's condition. He admittedly didn't even go to his family, friends or community before gfy. I think he was overwhelmed at the response and never expected to receive that much from gfy and then learned that insurance was going to cover a significant portion. Seems somewhat ironic that Batts led the charge to get donations coming in to help with his financial situation, and now Batts is broke."WTF, on google you can find the answer to every question in human history, EXCEPT how to convert cams..

I'm not sure where read that, but I read all of his posts and everything surrounding the situation and don't recall there ever being any doubt about it involving his own son. There was some local media reporting concerning his son's condition. He made the mistake of thinking initially he was going to have to go to the USA to get treatment and was going to need a lot of money, instead of waiting to get some evaluations and weigh his options.
