    Checked out the new 2010 Camaro today (pics)

    The local Chevy dealership got a 2010 Camaro in today... had a big thing about it in the paper and they were gonna auction it off to the highest bidder. MSRP was $27,900, and had no bidders. They lowered the starting bid to $24,000 and got three bidders... it ended up selling for $27,000.

    If it would have been a V-8, I would have been interested. I'll wait it out a bit and maybe get one in the next few months if I can get enough for my Escalade.

          I so love this Car! My first car when I was 17 was a 68' Camaro. The coolest thing about it is they are offering the redish orange that mine was.. I too think I'd want to hold out for the V-8 but I'm sure the V-6 one is still very nice

          Can't wait to start seeing these on the roads. It will make me work harder to be able to afford one myself

                                          that is their attempt to make it look like the 1st gen dash... the Vents to the outside were a dead give away to me and then I looked up a 68 dash and sure enough that is how it looked

                                              My dream car was 68 Camero as a teen. I had a 71, 73 Camero, a 69 El Camino but never got that 68.

                                                          Is it a real performance car or just a Malibu with new sheet metal?

                                                          I do like it since it's one of the few cars that don't look so feminine like every other sports car under $150K, but I bet it's got junky parts.

                                                                      The SS comes with a V-8 with 425 horsepower! I saw a car and driver where they took the SS Camaro, the mustang and the new Charger and the Camaro blew the other two out of the water all around.. This car is bad ass and from what I hear it sounds bad ass inperson

                                                                          The first HPE700 orders will be offered to registered bidders at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, and to the general public thereafter from Hennessey Performance directly and through select Chevrolet dealers. HPE700 Camaros will begin life as stock SS models and will morph at a cost of $109,500, including the initial cost of the car.

I was worried it would be just off the shelf parts but it sounds like the V8 has some serious power. Like I was saying, most cool cars these days all seem like chick cars, so I actually like this one since it looks like it has some balls.

                                                                                                              because it is not a $30 car. It's like a 69 Camaro and a 69 Camaro Yenko. The Yenko today is worth 10 times more than a normal 69 camaro cause so little of them were made and cause of it's ultra high performance and like this it was a factory Camaro altered at Yenko Chevrolet with a factory Chevy warranty.

                                                                                                              So for $110k you are not going to be driving just another car that you might see 2 or 3 at a stoplight. You would be driving one of the top 3 fastest American made production cars. There are Mustangs and there are Shelby Mustangs and everyone can see the differences when they see one on the road. Well this model is much more than just a Shelby upgrade.

                                                                                                              I never said I would pay $110k for this but you said the Camaro was cheap cause anyone could afford them and I'm just saying like the Vette or Viper there is more than one model and there is this option if you want to own a Elite Camaro that you will never see 2 or 3 at a stoplight.

                                                                                                              The Camaro and the Mustangs were never a exotic sports car, they were the sports car that the average guy could afford. this Camaro with 425HP is a very nice entry level sports car that is not just a cheap sports car knock off. The Mustang GT is only 325 HP.
