Apparently there has already been a limit in the amount of ammo you can purchase per month. I believe it went into effect May 1.

I was in a local sporting goods store on Saturday and they had virtually no ammo left on their shelves.

figures,,,

i went to go shoot some guns last saturday, they were out of .38 and 40 cal ammo.

there was a 6 month waiting list for some types of ammunition.

Ya, ya, martial law is coming. Alex swore up and down that Bush was going to do it. Go watch martial law again. Bush wasn?t even supposed to leave power. Martial law was to be declared before he got out of power, he?d stay in power forever, fema camps, lock us all up, kill us off, live forever, blah, blah. So when is going to happen this time?

A friend of mine is a cop and he is also the firearms instructor for their department. He has qualifications coming up in July and he ordered the ammo for it last month in hopes that he will be able to get it.

I have another friend that works at a gun store and he says the same thing. the will put in a huge order for ammo and will be lucky if they get 30% of it.

He tells me it is a combination of our wars in Afghanistan and Iraq drawing on the supply then add in all the pro-gun people who are now worried Obama will outlaw guns and ammo so they are stocking up and preparing for war.

There is no legal limit on how much you can purchase. But a lot of stores, such as the Walmarts in the Las Vegas area, have implemented a limit of 6 boxes of ammunition per person. A few of the local gun stores have done similar things. One store that I went to had over 40 boxes of 9mm and would only let me purchase 1 box.
