any tips on getting google "exact phrase search" to work again?

I could really narrow down the results using double quotes. This internet stuff is starting to suck, I am going back to getting my info from some dude in New Mexico broadcasting on an Amateur Radio. KSUX out.

I had this problem the other day on a particular search and I had to search page results to find the text I was looking for because they didn't bold the key phrase text is the results as usual.

Some results had the key faces something I thought it was bizarre

Google does A/B testing with my account. Not sure if it's because I've been a Google user since its inception or because I'm online constantly. Sometimes I get a new feature like oh that's interesting and I'll use it, or I won't, for a few searches and then it disappears. I thought the exact phrase glitch was due to that.
