Tech Latest Chrome Users. Does Pornhub think you have an ad blocker?

I just updated Chrome and went to Pornhub (for research purposes) and Pornhub seems to think I have an ad blocker.

Are you getting the same result? Has Better Ads enforcement hit the biggest porn site?

Yes I remember they've done this before with new major chrome updates then they ease into new ad code that meets regulations and still gives them what they want.

No popups on XVideos or Spankbang - there used to be.

Went to a popular torrent site (not advertising it here) and all ads are blocked with a warning.

If you used Chrome canary like I do would would have been seeing this last year.

If you want to know where chrome is going far in advance surf with Chrome Canary.

Google's new advertising standards start tomorrow

                  Regular users download standard Chrome.

This is what I think has happened with this latest release.

                  1. Google has properly implemented pop blocking, as it failed to deliver on previous promises to do so in earlier releases.

                  2. Google is moving quickly to enforce Better Ads standards https://betterads.org

                  3. Safari follows soon, there's no timeline for Firefox. Microsoft will lock step with Google in the next major browser update.

If you relied on intrusive ads, popups, popunders, interstitials or anything else that doesn't comply with Better Ads then times are going to get tough.

I will be interested to see how many of the grubbier/spammy sites disappear over the next 12 months.

What I'm saying is we surf in Chrome Canary and we were making threads about this here last year. Which means the thieves and tube owners were reading our threads about this last year and have been all over it trying to find workarounds.

                    I hope they all fail

I've now found over 30 very high traffic websites (all piracy surprise surprise) which have all ads blocked.

Can anyone show me an example of a legit adult site that has all ads blocked? Which legit sites have lots of pops?

Do you mean that you want to see a legit adult site with no ads blocked?

You just said you found over 30 very high traffic websites which have all ads blocked.

These examples are what causes Google to block ads now.

I haven't found a legitimate adult site that's been affected though.

popups still everywhere... maybe somewhere triggered on 2nd or 3rd click but nothing changed at all - as expected.

I've done some A/B testing between Safari & Chrome.

Chrome is blocking a lot more than it did. Some sites have all ads blocked with this warning.

You can find the warning by clicking a little window icon at the top right of the url bar, it's not always obvious.

I hope these changes force a lot of low in quality, high in spam and pops etc sites to shut down.
