He has a point. You don't want to blame the mods, I can understand that since I don't see you getting into the tit for tat political spats. You are here to do business. So am I, and so I was, for far longer years than what my profile says. But the mods have abandoned this place. When the business changed around 2008, and the affiliate model dropped out the bottom, this place changed.
I began seeing more and more hate speech being tolerated. I have watched this board morph into almost a haven. People began to remove their sigs, and more and more "fake" nics started being used. More and more non industry people, more and more fake nics, and less and less moderation and adherence to the rules. Take also the existence of the current political climate and mix that with what I just described and here we are.
It is not any one thing that killed this place. It is a culmination of all that. To say this is Bladewire being part of the problem, I think misses the whole problem. The biggest problem with GFY is no moderation and the fact the industry died for a whole lot of people that made this place great. I think GFY and AVN is sitting around looking at the traffic numbers and thinking that taking out the "bad" guys, if you will, would be the final nail in this coffin.
Personally, I NEVER engaged in anything political, or got into spats on here for most of the time GFY had existed. It was a little sad to see the racism and intolerance take a foot here. It was bad during the Obama years, but it exploded when Trump came to town. The racism got bold. This place became a haven. In my honest opinion, Bladewire is no different then a whole lot of people on here, including myself, who would like to see this board get a little more moderation and go back to making sure people are following the fucking rules. You got a lot of people pointing the finger at him because they don't like that they are being challenged. For them to attack him....that's fucking bullshit because they are pushing their own fucking agenda. So you got a lot of people here now promoting their political agenda. How in the fuck are they any different than Bladewire. I don't see Bladewire promoting hate. Of course some will say otherwise, becuase what the hell else are they gonna say?
That's why when people go to a 9 to 5 job, in most cases, racism and hate speech is not tolerated. It makes for a hostile work environment and it will kill your business.
Lets take Duke for a second.. In my opinion has made a lot of racist statements. It's also been quite a fucking while since I seen anything purely business related being posted from him. Apparently you invited him. To me, people like him are part of problem. They are the ones testing the racism boundaries on this board and making for a hostile environment. Unless your a racist.
Again, much respect to you sir, but putting this on Bladewire doesn;t help either. I hate saying that becuase you are always about business. But when I see that you are taking the opinion of the people pushing actual hate, and not blaming this on the actual problem, I have to be honest.
This place is like the Lord of the Flies now and the ONLY thing that will fix it to anything that we came here for 12 years ago, is moderating this place. Not in favor of one political party over the other, but common decency and rule of law. Law being the fucking board rules that kept this place intact when the industry was thriving.
