To those of you who say it's not a democracy, or we don't own the board so don't have a say.....why do you think people come here?
They come here to read the threads and the posts. The posters are what make GFY. Always have been, always will be.
The advertisers may pay the bills, but the posters are the reason it's worth it for the advertisers to peddle their wares here. Without threads and posts and pageviews, GFY doesn't have jack shit.
This board has been top dog for a long time now, for so long that most people have forgotten that it wasn't always the top board. I can think of 2 off the top of my head that at one time were "the board" for industry discussion....and one of the big reasons GFY was able to knock them off their pedestals was because those other boards got a bit uptight about who could post, and what they could post, etc.
If GFY keeps kicking out everyone who pisses off someone who bought a banner spot here, they'll be going the way of the Condom Project (if you've been around long enough to know what that was, congrats on surviving this long in the biz) and someone new will be taking over the notoriety and ad dollars they now enjoy.

Sorry, the board is called "Go Fuck Yourself", and the forum is named "Fucking around AND program discussion" that means that this board is meant to be a bit of a free for all.
I agree with the rules about accusing people of being pedo's, or shaving accusations without proof or whatever.....but otherwise people should be able to speak their mind.
A limit on how many times they're allowed to speak their mind is kind of silly.
At the end of the day, people need to know what they can be banned for. The ban hammer can't just come down arbitrarily. That's especially important to people who do business on the board and FUCK AROUND on the board, as the title says we should.

Rules are there to be applied, when there are banned you need to explain why. Also the idea it is my house i can do what I want to is not that valid. There are many thing I as owner of my house can not do by law.
I think if you look good to some jurisprudence you can start doubting if this all that legal.Comment

Most of the people who are getting banned are getting banned for personal attacks, and stalking people. Reference MoreMagic, and his half dozen fake nicks as proven in other threads he was trolling.
Here is a prime example,...
He had some 6 nicks he would use over on DP. Allmyspace, XXXL, and a number of other nicks from that owner of theadultbiz. They would all show up in the same thread, much the way MoreMagic did a few weeks ago (see comments above), and some 6 or so nicks basically bashing endlessly. Not just in one thread, but following around from threads to thread untill some of the nicks started getting banned.
That is until it came out it was all the same person.
The mysteriously within 12 hours the thread bumps stopped, as did the bashing.
It's clear that personal attacks are not allowed. From people being banned, it has been established stalking them in numerous threads bashing them, their business, whatever is not allowed. Yet some like MoreMagic and their army of fake nicks keep doing it, as have others.
Almost ALL of the people banned in 2009 have been banned for pedo, or personal attacks. If people can't learn from the bannings as to what is off limits, and why people are being banned, then they have more than earned the end result not being able to post here.

5) Posting images of death, dismemberment, or animal cruelty will not be permitted and will be removed.
6) To cut down on the number of Fake Nicks and Surfers. You must register for GFY with a non-free email account. Yahoo, Gmail, live, etc registered accounts will no longer be validated.

There is only 1 nick on GFY and have be no nick on DP (ii55 on DP is related but not me) all without any problems or bans XXXl is a term used for many years as i can see 8,560,000 on google. Fact they I bought a domain from a company with name XXXL (and I verified also they are not on DP) doesn't mean that me or any other of my associates are on Dp with the same name. What is actually you whole proof.

I am kinda busy, so I will cut this short to the point.
If someone has a problem with Lenny's business, or does not like Lenny, and in every business thread his posts they attack him, his business or hijack the thread with name calling and non-sense that becomes a personal attack. Same as following Lenny from thread to thread making some remark, bashing him, whatever like a psycho ex-gf or stalker then it becomes personal.
Over time, you get a few dozen threads of that kind example showing a pattern of behaviors basically hard trolling someone, it goes from trolling to personal. Typically those threads escalate from bashing business to name calling.
'Personal attack' is not limited to your understanding of attacking your family. When you can show a pattern of behavior over a period of time in a few dozen threads. That is enough for Eric to do something about it. Rightfully so.
When I do not like someone. I will typically avoid their threads, put them on ignore, or whatever. Some on this forum are simply take keyboard warrior to a new level and end up being banned for a period or time, or forever.
In the end, they do it to themselves. It is not big bad mods being unfair. I am sure most people with any common sense know, before hitting the 'submit reply', that their reply is borderline. They know it when running a search, or following someone around from thread to thread bashing them. Same as you know right from wrong. So there is no need to whip out the, cry for me Argentina, card when hammered for it. Much less an easily pointed out pattern of behavior on some dozen or more threads.
There is always plenty of rope given to people by Eric on this board. They make their comments, "I am not banned yet", and in a few days/weeks/months/hours they are banned. The ducks are lining up in the background. But they get cocky and eventually there are enough posts/threads/evidence/name calling to pinky wave them bye bye.

1) There is no effort with Ffvb. I just clicked on his name once and he was gone. I got rid of a whole bunch of GFY tools like that and the board has never been better for me. You should check it out, it's free and it totally kicks ass. You can even use it to highlight your favorite posters or have it alert you of posts with keywords you choose.
2) The couch in question was not MY couch. I left that problem for some underpaid hotel maid to clean up.
