So a guy who gives a brutally honest recount of a moment that happened in his younger life is going to get slammed.
The guy is telling something very ugly about himself, knowing full well the uproar its going to cause.
What he did, or I should say, "what he thought about about doing" was horrible. He was a young man, still trying to figure things out in life. His view today is not what it was then.
I commend him for being honest about it. Rather then slam him, he should be commended . This should speak to those people who harbor those types of feelings right now. But those types of people will call him out rather then deal with their own personal hatred. We really are in sad shape as a society. It's great that there are people like Liam that have chosen to speak freely about something that is obviously very dangerous for their career, as a way to get a conversation started.
IMHO if you can condemn him, then you are the person he is speaking to.
Let me remind you, we are not talking about someone who is lying through their fucking teeth. I won't go through any names, becuase I think you can do that for yourself, but I cannot take you seriously when you condemn Liam for being honest and prop up others who have done bad shit, and fucking lie about it. Liam Neeson has grown into a man of great character, but also a man who realizes he has had flaws and has grown to overcome some of them.
We should be encouraging people to be open an honest about this type of subject, and commend them for coming forward. Humans are emotional creatures, we have moments of weakness. Those who think they are infallible, are the most. If you still hold hatred in your heart towards people that are different than you, or continue to stereotype people becuase they are different than you, this should attest that there is hope for you. You can help change the world to be a better place. As long as you haven't hurt anyone yet, you still have a chance to bring something positive to the table and help lead by example. Stories like these leave you no excuse not to change who you are.
