I have an affiliate that has incorrect personal information on their website , and I am wanting it changed. After repeated requests for it to be changed, would you hold back payment until it is done so?
Do you ever request your affiliates to change their website?

So I guess that is a no? So you do not mind if an affiliate spreads and uses incorrect information to promote your sites?Comment

Incorrect information regarding the model's personal info, such as age, measurements, bio etc. A multiple requests was put in to change this information, and no changes have been made.Comment

yeah a little more detail would help.. I mean if he is calling a solo girl a dirty slut then i would let it go if he is converting her but if she is a non nude model and he is saying "click here to see her gang banged" yeah I would have a problem with them

Is it really that big of an issue that you would want to withhold payment and otherwise jeopardize affiliate relations?Comment
-
no i would not have a problem with that.. it's pointless details if he calls her 19 when you say she is 18.. so what if he says she has C cup boobs when they are really only B cups.. come one here

Measurements and name? This is over bio info, you should still pay for the sales.Comment

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear both sides. I can see not worrying about other stuff. Our only concern had to do with model's location in the bio. Some models do not want to have their home city listed online. Requests were made to change this, and it hasn't been done.
I'll be paying the affilaite, but now another question -do any of you actually review your affliates sites as to how they do promote you, or are there concerns about that?Last edited by Boobgirl; 05-02-2009, 09:00 AM.Comment

see this is where being upfront right from the start would save a shit load of time.. yes if the affiliate was listing the models hometown and you or her had a issue with that then for sure make sure it gets changed as that is a bigger issue than when you stated it was a age or measurement issueThanks for the feedback. I've had members join my sites using the models real name for user/pass and i changed that the second i seen it. now my passes are random but my point is if it's a security issue of the model then for sure make sure the affiliate changes that infoComment

Don't give the model's location to the affiliate. Problem solved? Did they have a reason why they did not want to change the location on their [affiliate's] site? Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I could have been more clearer, I apologize. Plus, From the feedback, I realize what information is really of importance. I was also hoping for stories of any other webmaster that addresses their own affliate issues, not just addressing my own scenerio.Comment
-
THat information as not provided to the affliate. THey got it elsewhere, and that info has been since removed
No reason was given as to why they would not remove it.Comment

yeah I don't care if a affiliate calls my models whores, sluts or lies about her age and measurements.. The only time I have a issue with a affiliate is if he lies about what the site offers IE hardcore content in a non nude/ topless site. posting her as underage.. Or if he posts real info about the model like real name and hometown.
I hate when programs get too bossy and try to tell me as a affiliate not to say this or that about a model if it's something little and I will normally drop that sponsor. But then again I never really post info about models so i don't have to deal with this stuff anymore..Comment

I have been asked, and I changed it.
Changed it to another sponsor.LinkSpun - Premier Adult Link Trading Community - ICQ - 464/\281/\250

Sounds a little extreme to withhold payment but it's your program and sometimes that is the only way to get people to respond. It could also piss them off and the traffic could be moved somewhere else...Comment
-
There are a lot of affiliates who run model bio sites and include as much personal information as they can find, and there is a demand for such sites from fans...Comment

see I can see this with a celebrity site or what not but a solo girl site where the model never gives out her real name or hometown is a different thing..
I've had a model make a modeling profile with her real name, location, and reference her website so I can't really say much to people for just posting info that is in the top 5 google searches anyways but if anyone posts real names or locations of one of my other models They sure wouldn't get paid by me for posting that info if they refused to take it down.
affiliates that want to post detailed info about a model can always just make up a name and fake hometown and that is fineComment

If the affiliate is using factual info then you can't stop that.
He would sue the fuck out of you for the payment and win plus punitive damages.
If you have a term of service stating "no actual location and name of model can be used".
The you can slam him for violating that and withhold payments.
So address this issue in your terms of service which should already state that
the terms are subject to change at anytime and non-compliance is grounds for
termination of partnership.
Of course he can still put the shit up and not send you traffic.

Ex-fucking-actly.
For those of you who may have forgotten, one of the arguments against 2257/secondary producer status was for the protection of the models; that not every scumbag who can afford a $25 photo set should have personally identifying information.Comment

I think you would only be allowed to withhold payment here if:
A. The model would be endangered because of private information being given.
B. Chargebacks were unusually high because of unreal expectations.
If it just false information and it does not lead to a high percentage of chargebacks we tend to call it "good marketing".Comment

Put it in your TOS and then send an email to all affiliates about the change and that if they are not in compliance after 1 month they will receive a personal Email. If that Email is not responded to and the info changed in a timely manner you ban the offenders.
You can word it flirty if you like...
Hey, guys and gals, I really do appreciate your traffic so if you notice you didn't get paid, this is why and you can always contact me directly to get that payment out if it happens to you. But, expect some dirty talk! Tee hee...

This thread was a train wreck the way it was brought here but I stand behind posting a models real name and hometown that is not already known or can't be easily googled is not right to do.Comment

if somebody even tries to ask me that, will get a big fuck off without a doudt, i m the webmaster and my traffic resource does not make sense anybody.
i should say this stupid thread made me remind an old famous Gothic sponsor, who was keep asking to make changes to one of their affiliates site and end of the it they closed his account after a sale.
how ever it didn't any benefit to them, they got a big 'go fuck yourself' from people at gfy, maybe some of You peeps remember that thread.Comment
