Honest to god. How do they keep recruiting people to do that shit? I thought that 25 years ago when they would come to my folks house and it still holds true today.

the last time i saw one of them was 1990 on the train station in Thessaloniki/Greece where he gave me a brochure that said on the title how nice it is to do holiday at home.

I used to be really bothered by Jehova's Witnesses, and I was LIVID when my mom and sister converted over to what I considered a pretty retarded religion.

That being said, of course I love my mom and sister so I sat down and learned about it a little, because even though I thought it was stupid - I wanted to know what was going on in their lives.

A few things stuck out to me which I actually liked. Firstly, their going to people's doors - well thats an interpretation of the bible. Jesus said to go out and spread the good word, that a better place is coming blah blah blah. To me, it's stupid - BUT if you think of it from THEIR perspective...they are getting up on saturday morning, to come knock on your door to save your soul. I think thats pretty nice of em' - that they care enough about humanity and following exactly what their god says to go through all the shit they do, in order to make the world and humanity a better place (in there eyes anyway).

I still think its a big bunch of mumbo jumbo, but I can see their side of it and I'm glad that my mom and sister are more fulfilled these days - all I want for my family is happiness, and they found it - so good on em

another neat thing...bloodless surgery. They aren't allowed accepting blood from anyone...science actually advanced and came up with a solution that can replace blood during trauma cases, or surgery. Doctors are normally taught to just constantly add blood..."fluid out, fluid in" - thing is the synthetic stuff that was invented due to jehova's witnesses is actually proving to be better, and less expensive. woohoo!

another neat little tidbit...Jehova's witnesses were in the camps right alongside the jews (I was raised jewish) - the only difference was...they had the ability to sign a paper renouncing their religion and be able to walk out of the camp at any time. And apparently a remarkably low number of them actually did. On one level, thats pretty cool...to be that dedicated. From my perspective...again...I think it's retarded. But seeing both sides is always nice

Around here they ride bicycles. Two of them rode up to me in the Subway parking lot a couple of weeks ago. I was in a foul mood and just wanted to get a sandwich and go home so all they got out of me was "fuck off." I admire you for feeling guilty. I honestly didn't have an ounce of guilt for telling those two retards to fuck off.

Honestly I hate arguing with religious people...it ALWAYS breaks down because their points always rely on the belief in a god. Their arguments rely on my faith in the bible, or whatever holy book...which doesn't stand because I don't believe in it. It's just frustrating because their like "well judah st. bitchsticks said this in verse 32 of matthew" - and I'm like...who the FUCK is that? and WHY should I believe what he's saying?

I'm just saying - I can understand and appreciate both perspectives. And learning more about them made me less annoyed with them and understand where their coming from. But I do that with everything, and I think if everyone did that - the world would be a better place. No?

Well good; because I was starting to think it was just me they were after.
