It was in Apeldoorn (not in Amsterdam)
Looks like a possible attemt to harm/attack to Dutch Royal family (and it went sour for the perps).

This is the first news story I had broken to me on Twitter. Somebody that follows one of my mainstream sites is based in the Netherlands and suddenly was tweeting about this non-stop. Heard about it before I got to any 'real' news source. Interesting.

I am very sorry to hear about this incident. The pictures look horrible.

Because cops rarely need to pull their gun here. And because it's almost 100% sure that idiot in that car doesn't have a gun on him. Compared to almost 100% sure that idiot would have one if it was in the US.

It happened too quick for anyone to do anything. And at that point they weren't sure if it was an accident or not. They're not gonna shoot someone without knowing what's going on. I know you're used to that in the US but that's not how it works here.

one thing tough, good thing the statue was standing there, the car would have plowed right into the crowd standing behind it, there is no way that huge crowd could have gotten out of the way in time to avoid a collision..
