Where do you get off telling me what to do? It's your script isn't it? You wrote it?
Not yet. Because doing so would expose every site running your script.
Throwing mud at me won't help you. Quoting things out of context makes you look like a dick.
Because until you posted it I forgot I had that account, I don't use it, the vehicles are old and not what I drive now and one less opportunity for people like you to dox me is a good thing.
Not really, the guy is posting stuff from years ago, out of context, trying to claim things that aren't true. Even the pirates I was fighting years ago did better.
Yawn.Comment

You're the one claiming to have found a "security hole". You haven't posted it because you are lying and haven't found anything.
But you've never done that, right?

I'm not going to argue with you. I'll post in this thread when I have something relevant to say about my OP.
Guilty of what? Deleting an old social media profile I don't use and isn't even up to date? Seriously dude.
Your tactics are clear, you posted this
When it was obvious that Oracle Porn was talking about JMB Software
So try and smear me all you like, I see one of our pirate buddies has chimed into this thread, good for him.
You're annoyed, I get that, however before you post anything defamatory consider the consequences of doing so.Comment

Someone did that in the cam field not long ago LOL. I have flushed his shit where it belong " Toilet " and use robotscript now.

A few years ago I posted the URL of a TA customer on GFY that caused a few here to go up in arms, before the owner posted that it was okay to post the URL. The overwhelming majority of sites using the Tube Ace WordPress plugin are small, niche websites. Many customers are running dozens of tube sites earning only a couple hundred dollars per month each, but that does scale pretty nicely if you do the math. Obviously, these people aren't going to go around bragging about their income, which would only create more competition for themselves.
The Tube Ace plugin does as advertised, to import video content (embedded video player, thumbnails, titles, tags, performer names) into a WordPress site. It does not claim to do your marketing, link building or SEO that a high-traffic website requires.
A good analogy is: the majority of people who join a gym or buy exercise equipment, don't have the dedication or consistency to meet their fitness goals. The honest truth is, most people are lazy and want some magic pill which doesn't exist. It's not the fault of the gym or treadmill manufacturer for your failure. You still must put in the work to succeed.Comment

AdultKing is threatening to undermine thousands of hours of Chris' work completed over many years by giving it away for free. That's a dick move. That’s just bad for everyone since developers will not create new software for the industry.
Tube Ace costs a measly 80 bucks for a LIFETIME LICENSE, ONE TIME, about the hourly rate of a competent coder. You guys have no clue about the amount of work required to run a successful software business. Hours of tedious coding that requires intense focus, working with inconsistent APIs, testing on different hosting environments, going back and fourth with customers (often times FOR SEVERAL HOURS) offering support, writing documentation and recording demo videos for a plugin that costs about as much as a pair of Nike shoes.Comment

It's already free software, the author made that decision years ago.
For what it's worth, I am probably not going to release it. However whether I did or didn't the author cannot escape the fact that it's already free software and anyone with a copy is legally entitled to sell it, modify it then sell it or give it away.
This isn't me saying this, it's the software license that says this:
https://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-lic...pl-2.0.en.html
It's also worth noting that the author includes other people's free software in his own software, so he's basically doing the same thing. He is selling software that contains other free software that he did not write. He's entitled to do this because of the GPL.Comment
-
Apparently all premium plugins and themes must fall under these guidelines. Distributing this guy’s software which he still works on to make a living for free just to make yourself look good really makes you look like a scumbag. Isn’t your whole claim to fame about stopping piracy? Pretty ironic isn’t it?Comment

So you're saying that the author is a pirate because he included other people's software products into his own?Apparently all premium plugins and themes must fall under these guidelines. You can't have this both ways. The author distributes Flowplayer in his software. Flowplayer is GNU GPL v3. The author did not write Flowplayer, Flowplayer is the result of thousands of hours of work by others. He sells software containing the software written by others.Comment
-
That's an incredibly lame argument. Flowplayer was meant to be a free video player with paid upgrades to remove the branding. You on the other hand, have threatened to strip the licensing mechanism from my software and distribute it for free, just to make yourself look like some kind of hero. You only made yourself look like a fool and low-life. I promised you would regret this.So you're saying that the author is a pirate because he included other people's software products into his own?

Ok, I understand. It's fine for you to rely on the GPL when it suits you. That's an incredibly lame argument. Flowplayer was meant to be a free video player with paid upgrades to remove the branding. You are quite happy to distribute free software that you did not write but do not want free software that you did write distributed by others. Gotcha.

No, because the license for your software says that it's free software.
Or are you saying that your software license isn't worth the paper it's written on and nobody should trust you because you released software under the GPL but want to deny the rights of people who buy your software from the inherent rights included in the software licence?
Did someone force you to release free software under GPLv2, was a gun put to your head?
It's very misleading to license software as GPL and then claim that the rights under that licence do not exist.
I hope any many people as possible see this thread, because it demonstrates that the author of this software never had any intention of honouring the license he has sold the software under.
FWIW, I have already said I am probably not going to release it, so right now this is a theoretical debate. It does demonstrate that the author is untrustworthy as he has released software under a license he does not want people to exercise their rights under.Comment

How much money you make is not a consideration in this debate.
You released software under a license, you are now trying to revoke the rights that you afforded people by choosing that license. That makes you deceitful and dishonest. If you never had any intention of honouring the terms of the licence that you chose then why did you do it?
You clearly are stupid. Educate yourself by reading this:

You didn't get anyone dude, you just got busted using a fake nick to defend yourself. That is incredibly lame.
By the way I just checked the upgrade that you emailed me last night. When I bought the plugin it was for unlimited sites, and the "upgrade" is for one site only. Also incredibly lame...Comment

I was obviously joking. Of course somebody would look at the 5 posts history of by DumbleDur and say he was me or a shill.
Profits, you have unlimited domains, it’s just the email that reads it since there is no unlimited option anymore and I have to manually set it now.Comment

Look man, I'm not going to bust your balls anymore. My only issue with you has always been that you never answer emails. I'm generally not someone that ever requires support, and the only time I emailed you in the past was to get the new versions of the plugin. Now that is automatic so it's no longer an issue. I appreciate you taking care of my upgrade...I was obviously joking. Of course somebody would look at the 5 posts history of by DumbleDur and say he was me or a shill.
